It is very very disgusting that after 69 years of freedom there is no real development in the Passanger Transport Aviation in Maharashtra. So many Chief Ministers took the seats and they did nothing for the Air passangers from Maharashtra. There are many Airports like Ratnagiri, Kolhpur, Karad, Sindhudurga, Solapur, etc. But none of these operating for Passangers. No flights are Departing/Arriving from other local airports. Not even from Pune or Nagpur. Very very sad and frustating. There are thousands are people from Konkan area working in Gulf but no chief minister is trying get Local or International Airport for them.
Karad Airport is on South-East corner of the New Mahabaleshwar Area i.e on Golden quadrilateral of India. Also 6'th National-Park i.e. 'CHANDOLI National Park' of Maharashtra and 'KoynaTigerPark' is about 40km awayfrom this Airport.

Karad Airport is the closest airport to New Mahabaleshwar. It is just 32Km from Patan and 50Km from Koyna Nagar
