PIREP logistics

Inbound from Puerto Rico VFR.

Communications:

Talk to Beef Island (Terrance B. Lettsome International) is TUPJ (ICAO) like approach when VFR on 118.4. Claims in some places that 122.8 is UNICOM there but was quiet when I was there so not sure if that's accurate. Same for Beef Island on departure but airport personnel stated they can't receive when you're on the ground so they suggested contacting after airborn. On approach as well as departure they will ask souls and fuel duration on board.

Logistics:

No fuel

Need to email ops@bviaa.com before for permission to land

Usual eAPHIS in and out of the US if applicable

3 copies printed in and out of IACO general declaration

Small airport no taxi's etc, rental car group (looks like 1 of 2 are in business L&M) will drop off a car

Off season is slow, 2 bar's open and 1 or 2 hotels, make sure to get a room before noon or so or may be difficult

Went for the lobster, they serve frozen off season but go in season if you are going for that

Beautiful island, nice people

Had to call customs officer to see if he would be on the island but seems like he's generally available.
