After seventy years of health and fitness, my heart suddenly threw in the towel and I was helicoptered from Stornoway to Inverness hospital on the mainland - my first experience of flying in a helicopter - brilliant - so exciting and all the cool radio messages going backward and forward between pilot and Inverness that I completely forgot I was dying! Now safe back home on the island with a pacemaker, I have been told to take it easier on some of my more strenuous hobbies, so what more exciting than taking up scanning the airbands!
