Nothing makes a trip to such a peaceful and picturesque airport better than a courtesy car!
Was able to see much more than I planned on. It's a minivan, perfect for small groups flying in, just contribute 20$ for the upkeep and make sure you bring it back at the same fuel level and it's yours for the day. Just call them in advance and reserve it to be sure of having it on the day you fly there.
Landed here the other day, but took off fairly quickly. I wish I could have gotten out because it looks beautiful! Runway was clear and big, there was quite a few deer around the runway, we noticed once we landed. Not busy, at least when I had arrived!
ould you be interested in distribution your hangar at V.p. Bay airdrome? I'd equal to bring my aircraft there occasionally in the summer but would suchlike to cook it "inside". I shelter't prefabricated the swimming yet to acquire a structure for the integral gathering.
Reply to @cvander: Would you be interested in sharing your hangar at Gore Bay airport? I'd like to bring my aircraft there occasionally in the summer but would like to keep it "inside". I haven't made the plunge yet to lease a hangar for the whole year. Please send me a note at kapling01-lancair@yahoo.com . Thanks!
If only you could rent a hangar for the summer months. It seems cost inefficient to rent a hangar for the whole year and only use it for four or five months. Maybe the airport should look into some type of temporary summer hangars?
We built a waterfront home on Manitoulin, and it was so beautiful we decided we wanted to spend more time up there. This was the reason my wife and I took up flying. Robbie Colwell is the airport manager, and a wonderful guy. Laura works the radio, and the fuel. We were able to lease a hangar on a yearly basis, but a few people tie down off the ramp.

Flew in here the other day. Great little facility, but most importantly, fantastic service with a smile. Robby is a gem. I shall return !
