Further to the comment placed on these pages on 29.09.2010 that the ex raf airstrip at Wadi Seidna was infact 10nm to the west of the current airbase - has this been confirmed as true ? This is rather confusing - was this airfield moved completely or is this a wrong statement ? barry.
Wadi Seidna (or Wadi Saidna) was an RAF station before Sudanese independence. I believe that this is still an active military base for Sudan's air force.

the X-RAF WADI SAIDNA its gravil runways almost 10 n,m to the west of this airforce base
this a large base belid by sovit in 1973 has 2 runways 4000m long
