Great place to visit

Exmouth is at the entrance to Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo Reef.

This is an incredible place to visit. Snorkel and swim with whale sharks and manta rays when in season.

Snorkel Turquoise Bay is a must do.

Swimming with a whale shark or manta ray you will remember all your life.

Stopped for a leg stretch and refuel

Ring in advance to ensure refueling is available at the time you fly through, particularly weekends.

Refuel here before going whale watching

The coast between Albany and Point Ann to the east has an incredible number of whales close to shore in August through to November. Stay at Albany or Bremmer Bay.

An amazing place to fly into

The opportunity to land here is incredibly rare, Perth's original airstrip.

The last time was the SAAA Langley Park Fly In, October 2011.

My landing is captured on this link on YouTube.

Or search using Langley Park Fly In SAAA

This is a great airstrip servicing Busselton and the Margaret River region.

Margaret River is a great place to fly to and stay a couple of nights. Terrific area to visit.

Great for lunch at the winery

This is a great day visit from Perth. Ensure you contact the winery first though. You need to sign an indemnity form.

Note the location shown on the map is about 1500 m too far west.

re: Positioning and access

Thank you very much for the contribution, Ian. I'm grateful for all the work people are putting in correcting the AU data and keeping it up to date.

re: Positioning and access

Reply to @david:

Sorry David. I repositioned the strip as the one shown was on top the range (hills). The strip is dirt for mid sized fixed wing aircraft.

Appologies for the confusion.

regards,

Ian

Boyup Brook Airport review

Great airport. My only criticisms are that the service was a little slow in the Chairman's Lounge and it took me a while to get through customs.

Picture of

Tell me more

I fly from Jandakot and flew over this a while back. Is it open to the public for landing, or for a visit by car to view the historic aircraft on the ground?

re: Airstrip extinct

Reply to @HomerT: Thank you for the update.

re: Positioning and access

Reply to @HomerT: thank you very much for the comment. That's a long runway for helicopters -- are you certain that STOL fixed-wing aircraft don't use the strip?

Picture of Ozguy

Broome

Quite a busy airport, with lots of Cessna Caravans coming and going. A great town too.

Picture of HomerT

Access

This airstrip is owned & operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and services it's yandi mining operations and surrounding exploration activities.

The strip is also shared By RTIO Yandicoogina operation. (The Yandicoogina strip YYCN listed no longer exists)

Picture of HomerT

Airstrip extinct

This, once private airstrip, was owned by Hamersly Iron for exploration activities. It 'disappeared' many years ago as the ground has been mined and the strip destroyed.

Rio Tinto currently shares BHP Biliton's Barimunya strip.

Picture of HomerT

Access

This is a private airstrip owned and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore to service mining activities in the area.

Picture of HomerT

Positioning and access

This airstrip is a private strip owned bt Rio Tinto Iron Ore to service the Namuldi, Brokman 2 and Silvergrass mining and exploration activities.

The position is closer to S22.39186 E117.37623 (this is the approx position of the "terminal" (or shed)).

he position show is on a range and would be inaccesable by fixedwind aircraft.

re: wyalkatchem airport

If you have complaints about an airport, could you provide details to help other visitors (and the airport owners, if they want to improve)? For example, did you think the fees were too high, the gas too expensive, the service too slow, facilities not well-maintained?

re: Brew 42 Brewery (Old Lake Clifton Tavern & Motel)

Hi we had my husbands birthday drinks and dinner there and it was awesome. Cold beer great food and even better service. There were around 14 of us and not one person had a single complaint. I highly recommend Brew 42 to everyone :)

Brew 42 Brewery (Old Lake Clifton Tavern & Motel)

Hi my name is Graeme Sellers the publican at Brew 42 Brewery (the old lake clifton tavern). On the 19/12/10 I had a contractor come in and grade up the air strip. We haven't got a wind sock yet but we are looking at getting it up asap. We have great food at the tavern and if you're thinking of staying the night accommodation is available. We brew our own beers and there are six to choose from. Any enquiries please call me on 08 9739 1010.
