Not specific to Alberni Valley Soaring, this appears on 1978 to 1992 National Topographic System maps as Port Alberni Airfield, marked "abandoned" on 1999 version which shows Alberni Valley Regional having been built to the Northwest.
Changed name
from "Alberni Valley Soaring Association Field"
to "Port Alberni Airport"
