Twin airports
There is another airstrip less than 2 km away called Ishkashim Airport (OAEM), just across the Afghanistan border. They're the same name, following different transliteration practices.
Dushanbe airport and city
Was there in February and found at the airport the customs offers were great and very helpful. It's an amazing place and the people are so friendly. Especially my wife who is from there. To the people of Tajikistan thank you and you made a New Zealander most welcome too your country I thank you. My wife and I shell return.
Landing in Khorog
Wow... That is some approach to the airport! I wouldn't like to do it in IFR let along VFR conditions! That looks like a deadly approach if you mess it up haha
India's only foreign airbase
While this airbase is in Tajikistan, it's operated by the Indian Air Force, and is their only foreign base.

This airport is missing from the maps now and has been added to Google Earth thanks to an Italian YouTuber called Dave Legenda who speaks Russian and landed at this airport with an Antonov 28 very rare plane I added the link here.... little information about this airport but if someone lands there he could describe the rest
