Great airpark!

Flew in today for an open house for a couple of the properties on the field. Nice place!

Sad that this is now slated to be closed soon!

Sad that this is now slated to be closed! I visited 11-19-21 so I could have it in my logbook before it's gone...

Hurricane Ida!

Great airport. My first visit was to drop supplies for victims of Hurricane Ida. The place looked like a war zone, in part because an army search/rescue unit was staging from there. Hope to be back when they've built back!

Elevation: ZERO!

Great airport with helpful service, chilled FBO, and cheap gas. But I came here for the selfie with the airport sign showing "Elevation: 0.0"!

Any port in a storm...

I set down here today to wait out the passage of a wicked cold front. I hadn't realized that every building on the field had been literally demolished by a recent hurricane. So, after I tied the plane down (tightly), I climbed back in the plane and rode out the storm. A little lonely but the pyrotechnics were good.

Great spot!

Landed here for the first time today, despite having flown around Houston for 20 years. Cozy spot. Nice drop-in over the trees onto 17. Will return!

Smoothest asphalt around!

Landed here tonight just to see what this airport was all about. Name probably comes in part from the golf course just to the north of the field. Smoothest runway ever.

Great stuff!

Gassed up here on the way from KTEX to Houston. Super folks!

Awesome!

Stopped here today (6/30/20) to ask Smiling Aviation to handle a ferry permit sign-off for me. They could not have been more fun or more professional. I learned a lot (as a pilot not a mechanic) watching them work. The runway is great, and the gas was cheap. Will be back!

Loved this place!

Lover the air strip and the accomodations. Took a photo there that's the home page of my web site, www.humphriesaviation.com

Sad to see it go!

This was one of the first cross-countries I made after earning my license in 1992. Looks like it closed shortly thereafter. You can read about it here: http://airfields-freeman.com/TX/Airfields_TX_FtWorth_SW.htm#luck
