Good international airport to access the best Botswana game preserves and wetlands. Lots of charters fly out every day, strip is well maintained and tower control is impressive as clouds and mist can roll in dawn and dusk but doesn't seem to matter as long as the pilots have the cohones to do so :)
Even if you were talking about the Old Notwane Airport that was closed in 1986, its still shown in the wrong place. where you show this one is at the city dump!!!!
Field managed by Botash, Prior permission normally required, no fuel (mogas per jerry can), hanger / shade for the use of Botash aircraft donβt park there (unless you are Botash).
Accommodation at the Chilly Pot (S20 32' 49.4",E026 04' 44.7") 3.4 km by road to the NWW ,reasonable & clean (Not up market) rooms (Pre-Fab buildings), food good, aircons broken. You will fly final approach over it if you are landing from the west.
Civilian apron is on North Eastern side, Fuel available most of the time, customs office on Easter edge and landing fees and flight plans can be paid / submitted in offices on northern side. Pax not to take photos on flight side.
I think that this should actually be the location of FBGM (Gumare Airport), since it's right north of the town of Gumare. The village of Nokaneng is 30-40 km to the south. Even Garmin has this wrong (if it is wrong).
I think that this airport should actually be where FBNN (Nokaneng Airport) is shown just to the north of the town of Gumare, and FBNN should be 30-40 km south in the village of Nokaneng. If that's true, though, then even Garmin has it wrong right now. Currently, everyone shows Gumare more-or-less in the middle of the town.
