Bosaso Rwy 09/27 is now under construction by china company called CCECC, and the plan is well the runway will be standard, and it will have all the facilities and services of the airports. the length of the RWY will 3.4km,asphalt.

Alternative airport for Mogadishu

This airport is 50 km from Mogadishu (hence the name), and is used as an alternative for scheduled airline service because of the danger around Mogadishu's main airport, Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ). It has a single sand runway.

Mogadishu's airport has been closed periodically because of fighting around the city. It last reopened in August 2006, and is still operational.
