As of 2024. In the foyer, a Muslim prayer room on second floor, bathrooms easily accessible from waiting room, cafe, and overall clean. In waiting room, minimal but modest. Taxi services are provided. There are plans to upgrade the terminal, though I havenโt seen any progress since announcement. Recently, there have been infrastructure upgrades to the roads in Loei, adding more lanes and rebuilding bridges. In the villages, bridges are also being upgraded and overgrowing shrubbery have been cleared, as such in Ban Nam Chan.
Interesting fact: heavy machinery involved in construction works at the airport at the western edge of Ban Na A severely damaged an ordination hall of โWat Pho Chaiโ around 1969.
I hate flying because I do far too much of it as a result of my work but Loei Airport is a great little airport even if it only has one flight per day. It beats driving to Bangkok (Don Muang Airport) and certainly better than going by bus. However, to appreciate what Leoi has to offer land transportation is of course better.

According to local Thai historians, the original temporary airstrip was located here. In 1954, it was closed when the new Loei Airport opened.
