Too many snakes

When i landed my Boeing 747-8i at this airport, My 4x GEnx-2B67 engines suddenly turned into snake blenders. At %50 thrust they were sucking up all the snakes on the runway. Disfigured snake bodies went flying out the back of my engines and shot through the window of a Cessna 172, Killing the pilot. Luckily i fed his body to the snakes and no one found that he was missing. I then took of and flew past the tower while blasting Danger Zone over the ATC Frequencies. On my way back i was intercepted by 5 F/A-18Fs but i got rid of them easily with some of my AIM-9 sidewinders mounted under my 747s wings. I proceeded to fly to Sydeny Intl Where i stole a Tug and put it in my cargo bay. I was surprised when i had 40 Police officers shooting at me but i just killed them by strangling them with the snakes that survived in my 747 engines. I rate this airport a 10/10

Watch out for the snakes!

Upon landing my plane was immediately surrounded by a variety of colourful, but presumably deadly, snakes. I immediately took off again and have been having nightmares ever sinnce - 2/10.

Interesting Location

I lived in Gove for ten years. Flying in and out several times each year. In addition many charters involving fire investigation, management and control.

Would live the opportunity to make a return visit.

Music played at terminal

I would like to know what music/sounds were playing when we arrived at Ayers Rock airport. It set a good and appropriate atmosphere resulting in a calming effect.

re: Unknown airport 25km NW of Alice

I can see why the confusion, though. If you zoom in on the long narrow strip of land that looks like a runway, those X things do kind of look like airplanes. http://goo.gl/maps/qtHCe Zoom in a bit further, and it becomes obvious they're not, however.

re: Unknown airport 25km NW of Alice

Reply to @Javelin:

It is not an airport. It is an antenna array associated with the Jindalee RADAR (JORN) facility.

Baniyala

Baniyala Airport services the Baniyala community, which is the largest homeland in East Arnhem (2011 population of 129).

Baniyala Airport gets between 1-5 flights per day, almost all are charter flights operated by Laynha Air based at Gove (GOV) airport.

There is a small shop next to the airport. There is accommodation available at the Baniyala VOQ as well as the Baniyala Campground near the airport. The Dhuluwuy Recreation Area, 16.5kms by road from Baniyala, is a larger campground on Blue Mud Bay.

Activities at Baniyala including fishing for barramundi and mud crabs, and cultural tours. See www.baniyala.com

Unknown airport 25km NW of Alice

There is an unmarked airport 25km NW of Alice Springs, about 16km west of Bonds Airport, on the Tanami Rd (5), 23 31 22.20S, 133 40 45E. Any idea what it is? Thanks.

Mereenie is operated by Santos Ltd

Mereenie is an Oil and Gas facility run by Santos Ltd in Adelaide.

You will not get permission to land there unless it is related to the operation.

re: WHAT IS HERE

Looks like a mining operation to me.

Picture of

WHAT IS HERE

You need a permit to use the meneenie loop road ... and you can't go to this location ... if you search for it as an airport you get "invalid" - Is this a U.S. Military base? ... It looks like Area 51 and Groom Lake... alot of roads ending in underground bunker entrances?

re: GTE

Reply to @Ozguy:

If someone were to convince the locals to allow me to bring my warmblood horses with me, with the understanding that there'd be riding lessons, with dressage, showjumping, eventing, and even barrel racing, would that make the island more fun? Are there edible grasses on this island? Are there a bunch of flightless birds and super rare plants that a few hooves might accidently trample?

cool art

The aboriginal art is very cool inside the airport. It's a shame there's no viewing area for passengers inside the terminal.
