It's actually an Air Force Base, not a civil airport. Google "Swartkop Air Force Base", "Swartkop AFB" or "AFB Swartkop".

Dangers using this airfield
there are a number of holes on the runway which is covered in grass and s difficalt to see. beware of the cows, people and cars on the runway.

As for catching a wakeup... it should be apparent for anyone with half a brain that this is not an official ACSA or OR Tambo site. For a site that is run and maintained by volunteers I think is it nice. Thanks guys... you provide much needed info which ACSA themselves does do so well. This site serves me well.
So if you want to get abusive, go to ...acsa.co.za/home.asp?pid=66 and do it there. Some-one gets paid to maintain that site.

Aeroden Lodge is a fantastic flyaway location BUT please book in advance as it is booked out on most weekends. Awesome flying along the Magaliesburg mountains and Hartebeespoort Dam. NOTE: Check for game on airstrip before landing!!
