@OFFLOADED ONCE (DUbai UAE)

A visit visa costs approximately AED2,900 ($807) including a one-way plane ticket to UAE, and covers a 30-day period. It can be extended for another 30 days for about AED1,000 (P12,000) after which the holder has to stay out of the country for one month before being granted a new visit visa.

According to consulate officials, most visit visa holders with expired papers choose to wait it out at border towns in Oman or on Iran’s neighboring islands, thereby incurring more expenses on top of those already spent during the first two months looking for jobs.

Bedspace and utilities alone in Dubai could run up to AED1,000 $272) a month. Accommodation in Oman and Iran runs at AED35 ($9.50) a day, excluding food.

Those who manage to get jobs during their stay on visit status also risk being abandoned by would-be employers while on their “visa run” in Oman or Iran, waiting for their visit visas to be converted to employment visas by their employers. There had been several cases where would-be employers have decided at the last minute to hire another person instead, or fold up their business.

It is estimated that a Filipino jobseeker leaving home to take a chance in UAE on a visit visa would have at least P50,000 ($1,153) to cover the first month’s expenses during job hunting, money which is usually borrowed from relatives and friends, officials said. They added that NAIA immigration officers are aware of this.

ESCORT SERVICE

After ninyung mag check-in punta kau nang immigration all by your self, walang escort ang mag aasist sa inyo. Ang immig officers everyday nililipat sila nang counter so escort can't really help you. Dont ever believe them. You will just waste your money.

I suggest na be honest nalang. Kasama mo naman family member so bawas doubt na yun. Para nalang sigurado, dalin mo mga to:

1. COE

2. BANK CERTIFICATE/STATEMENT

3. COPY OF ITR

4. CREDIT CARDS AND ATMS

5. OLD PASSPORTS

6. TRAVEL ITINERARY SA KUALA LUMPUR

7. Proof of leave of absence (gawa ka nalang nito, ilagay mo details ng vacation leave mo tsaka contact details ng boss at HR)

I know madami pero okay na to kesa hanapan ka tapos wala diba?

Last advice: wag kang kabahan. you and your sister should look excited para di mabigat pakiramdam ng IO sainyo. smile and isang tanong isang sagot. don't lie. :)

I hope this helps! :)

Here at Naiat2 and I saw a girl being questioned because she's with an old foreigner. Idk what happened to them or if she was allowed to board the plane. Im a female solo traveller and the io didn't ask me anything.

Just tell the truth...hindi ito ang first time namin.

Is this your first flight outside the PH? just answer NO. then prepare for another question if there is.

Guidelines for Secondary inspection or Subject for Interrogation:

i. If not financially capable to travel, an authenticated affidavit of support, indicating therein the relationship within the 4th civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, together with the supporting documents, may be entertained; and

2.2 Any passenger/traveler who will be subjected for secondary inspection shall be required to accomplish the Bureau of Immigration Border Control Questionnaire (BCQ) to be furnished by the Immigration Officer.

2.3 However, the following shall automatically be subjected to secondary inspection:

@Mr_Frequent_Traveller

Thank you very much indeed for your insight sir.

We will be traveling 2nd week of April for Songrat Festival in Thailand.

Sir another question, Wala na kasi mga old passports namin, we will be using a new passports, may record pba mga IO nyan sa mga previous flight history namin. As i returned to the Ph year 2014 pa from working overseas.

And if in case magtanong ang IO na if this is your first flight outside the PH? Ano sasabihin namin? Would we say no because pareho kami ng work sa MidEast before? Naiisip ko kasi na maybe they will interrogate me further when they know that we were an ofw before.

@Tanong Po

Guidelines on Departure Formalities for International-Bound Passengers in all Airports:

3. Overseas Filipino Workers on vacation but visiting other countries before returning to original worksite/destination

A Balik-Manggagawa OFW with a valid visa and existing work contact who intends to go to other countries while on vacation need not get a POEA travel exit clearance/OEC. Hence, he/she is considered a tourist and is not exempt from travel tax and terminal fee, but shall be allowed to travel.

Picture of Mr_Frequent_Traveller

@Tanong Po

Wala pong problema ...kahit ex OFW kayo as long you can afford to travel as a tourist.

Make sure bring the following:

• Passport.

• Your old passports – to show that you have traveled before and that you came back to the Philippines of your own free will.

• Visa – if necessary for your destination.

• Round-trip ticket with receipt or other proof that the ticket has been fully paid – to show that you intend to return to the Philippines.

• Hotel reservations, preferably with receipt or other proof that the entire stay has been fully paid – to show that you can afford your accommodations.

Kung nag work naman kayo bring Company ID or certificate of Employment at Leave of Absence.

• Bank statement (if available) – to prove that you can afford your trip. Even better than a bank statement, which will only show your account balance and transactions within a limited period of time (usually the last quarter), is a bank certification, which includes information like YTD balance and the date the account was opened — data that will show that the account was not opened for the sole purpose of supporting your trip. The Bureau of Immigration, as far as I know, has not set a minimum account balance. And please do not think of this as show money. It is not just for show. You need to have enough money to cover your expenses during the trip and still have savings left when you return to the Philippines — because if you spend all your savings on a vacation, that will be highly suspicious.

At kailangan ang booking mas maiksi mas kapakapaniwala. mga 3 days 2 nights. maximum one week(medyo may tanong na yan)

Picture of

@Tanong Po

Try to ask na lang kaya sa Bureau of Immigration if may time kayo or tawagan nyo sila and ask advice para sure..

Good luck sa trip po. :)

Picture of

Visitor Visa

Bring ALL the documents that you can bring. All.

This applies especially if:

• You’re young.

• You’re female.

• You’re single.

• It’s your first time traveling abroad.

• You have a history of being offloaded.

• Someone else is paying for your trip.

These documents are not technically required. It’s possible that the IO will just let you board the plane without asking any questions at all or without asking for any documents. But it’s better that you have these documents on hand, even if the IO does not ask for them — rather than if the IO asks for them and you have nothing to show. Better safe than sorry.

Well for your case, wala naman akong nakikitang magiging prob sa vacation mo. It's better to prepare your land arrangements (day-to-day itinerary in BKK) in an event na magtanong ng IO about your trip. Pero I can't see any problem with your case. :)

Visitor Visa

And ang babyahe po pala papuntang Schengen area is ako, my friend, my friend's aunt and my friend's cousin. Magbabakasyon kasi ang tita ng friend ko with her daughter dito sa pinas and babalik ng Europe after a month. Kasama kami ng friend ko pabalik ng Europe then after two weeks uwi na kami ng pilipinas.

Picture of

Visitor Visa

Yes.

Picture of Mr_Frequent_Traveller

What documents do you need to present to the Immigration off

First of all, your sponsor must either be:

Living in your country of destination, OR

*

Traveling with you

*

I asked if the sponsor can be someone who is staying behind in the Philippines and the Immigration officer said no, they don’t really consider an affidavit from someone staying behind as enough assurance that he/she will be paying your travel expenses.

I do know that, for example, when you apply for a visa, the foreign embassy will accept it if your sponsor is someone like your parent, who’s not going with you on the trip but is simply giving you money for it. (See: Sample Affidavit of Support for Visa Application.) In that case, I think what you can do — for Immigration purposes — is you can ask your parents to transfer the money to your bank account, have a copy of your bank statement AND your parents’ bank statement on hand, and explain the whole thing to the IO if he/she asks. At least that’s what I would do if I were in that situation — probably overkill, but again, prudence is cheaper than regret.

So anyway, if someone in your destination is sponsoring your trip, you need to prepare:

An Affidavit of Support and Undertaking that is duly authenticated by the Philippine embassy or consulate

*

Proof that you are related to your sponsor up to the 4th civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, such as NSO birth certificates (it is the IO’s duty to trace the relationship, so don’t hate them for suddenly wanting to know each leaf of your family tree)

*

Proof of your sponsor’s financial capacity and legal status

*

Your sponsor’s contact details

*

Your sponsor’s corporate registration papers, if applicable

If your sponsor is traveling with you, you need to submit a duly notarized Affidavit of Support and Undertaking which indicates:

Your sponsor’s financial capacity

*

His/her reason for sponsoring your trip

*

The complete residential address and contact details of your sponsor

*

Undertaking by your sponsor that the travel is solely for tourism purposes and that you will return upon completion of the tour (Source)

Note the difference: if your sponsor is already in the country you’re going to, the affidavit needs to be authenticated by the Philippine embassy or consulate there, but if your sponsor is traveling with you, the affidavit just needs to be notarized.

*

Picture of Mr_Frequent_Traveller

When may additional documents be required?

Aside from the basic requirements, some travelers may be asked to submit additional documents. This may happen when:

The passenger discloses a doubtful, false or suspect travel intent. Example: A person who says she is going to, say, Singapore for tourism purposes but can’t even say what attractions she will visit. (Singapore is a frequent jump-off point for people planning to work in the Middle East without proper papers and, sorry, the Immigration guys know it.)

*

Passports and travel documents/visas are counterfeit, fraudulent, falsified, simulated or tampered. Well, obviously this is suspicious, not to mention quite illegal!

*

Passenger’s totality of circumstances manifests a well-founded certainty of human trafficking, smuggling or illegal recruitment. For this, the Immigration officer will consider the traveler’s:

Age/health

Educational attainment

Financial capability for travel

Travel history, if any

Final destination

Based on previous data and on the experience of Immigration officers, they know that certain people are more likely to become victims of human/drug trafficking or are more likely to say they are going abroad as tourists but are actually going there to work or to look for work. And look — most of us, even the Immigration people, understand that people want to escape poverty and need to provide for their families, but if you don’t go through the proper channels and you don’t have the proper papers, you will be in much greater danger of being abused by your employer. People in the country you’re going to will be able to blackmail you (or worse) and get you to do things you wouldn’t normally consent to doing. Even if the person who recruited you is your “friend” — do you really want to be the next Mary Jane Veloso? So please, if you want to work abroad, please, please try as much as possible to do it the proper way.
