2km stretch
this article suggested the new airport is a 2 km long straight stretch on a 10km road, so this location seems to fit the bill and matches the coordinates

Somaliland's principal airport
This is the main airport for Somaliland, which is self-governing and de-facto independent, but still considered part of Somalia by the international community.
Closed
User reports:
"Our airport in Outlook, Saskatchewan was permanently closed on December 31, 2020. Please remove from your map. Thank you"
"Closed permanently and the airstrip was disced up"
August 2021 evacuations
This airport was the site of desperate evacuations from Kabul in August 2021:
Warning: high landing fee, GA not welcome
City council has forced the airport to institute a $35 landing fee (+HST, presumably). There are no exceptions, not even for resident pilots or pilots purchasing fuel. The fee is more than double that of CYTZ, which is downtown in Canada's biggest city.
I suggest taking your travel business to nearby Wiarton CYVV, instead -- it still welcomes GA.
Following international practice
Most countries in the world do not recognise Russia's annexation of Crimea. Until/unless that changes, we will continue to list this airport is in an occupied region of Ukraine. Please do not edit to change that β repeated efforts to change it will result in account suspension.
re: bad runway
Reply to @flopp: Great catch -- thanks! Fixed.
Unusual IATA code "MDN" vs FAA LID "IMS"
The IATA still assigns the code "MDN" to this airport: https://www.iata.org/en/publications/directories/code-search/?airport.search=MDN
However, based on a problem report, it appears the airport itself does not choose to brand itself under that identifier: "MDN is not associated with our airport. Itβs just IMS. Please take the MDN information off or please send me where you are getting information so that I can get it corrected. Iβm the airport manager for the airport and I have been tracking down the source of this misinformation. Thanks"
Since IATA, and not the airport, controls the IATA codes, we will be keeping that code here for now. It would be best if the airport authority reached out directly to IATA to have the "MDN" code deleted.
re: VOR Freqency
Thank you for the comment. There is an NDB (and possibly a colocated DME) on the island, both according to our database and to the Skyvector chart, but no sign of a VOR. Perhaps it would be best to get in touch with the airport or the national aviation authority for more information.
Opening 31 October 2020
This airport is opening to the public, after SchΓΆnefeld (visible just to the north) closed on 25 October 2020.

Closed on 25 October 2020
Closed and replaced by the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport immediately to the south.

Reply to @TIBC1: Thank you for the comment. I have merged the two airports, so this is now the correct entry.
New principal airport for Istanbul
Most scheduled flights moved here from https://ourairports.com/airports/LTBA/ in 2019. If you flew into Istanbul internationally before 2019 (as I have), then you probably landed at LTBA, not here.
Most scheduled flights moved to LTFM
Most of the scheduled flights (along with the IATA code IST) have moved to the new Istanbul Airport https://ourairports.com/airports/LTFM/
There are still some scheduled flights into this airport, including discount carriers (see the arrivals and departures).
Fuel shortages
There are fuel shortages due to the ongoing civil war in Yemen, and aircraft stopping here (including humanitarian-relief flights) may need to fuel elsewhere.
Fuel shortages and suspended flights
Because of fuel shortages caused by the ongoing civil war, the airport suspended himanitatian flights in September 2020:

Reply to @Mohsen: Corrected -- thank you.
Currently helicopters only
According to the Wikipedia article, this is an Egyptian Air Force helicopter base right now, but the runway still appears intact and may still get fixed-wing use.
New airport
This isn't showing up in the satellite image yet (2020-10-10), but there's a new airport here meant to serve Helsinki. More details at https://helsinkieast.aero
Grass runway
There seems to be a parallel grass runway right beside 03/21. It's not listed in the CFS, but the diagram shows its length as 1,800 ft.

re: NDB TKL 385 Decommissioned
Removed -- thank you for the report.
Russian control
This airport is in Crimea, still internationally recognised as part of Ukraine but under Russian military control. Due to international sanctions, only Russian flights are using the airport.
re: Balchik airport location
Corrected -- thank you.
Appears closed
@Spinner reported this airport closed. Newer satellite imagery on Google shows a road running along the strip now and out both ends.
Pilot info
This page has some pilot info, including the owner's contact info: https://www.flexwingscotland.co.uk/nether-huntleywood/
Second World War
During the Second World War, this airport hosted the No. 7 Air Observer School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, and the No. 14 Elementary Flying Training School was right across the road: http://bcatp.org/139-no-7-air-observer-school/
Today, the airport is privately-operated, but still hosts the 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_Canadian_Forces_Flying_Training_School
Second World War
From 1941 to 1944, St-Hubert hosted the No. 13 Service Flying Training School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP), on the military side of the airfield that formerly served as RCAF Station St-Hubert (later CFB St-Hubert until the 1990s, when it was decommissioned).

Second World War
As RCAF Station Mont-Joli, this airport hosted No. 9 Bombing and Gunnery School of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan from 15 December 1941 until 14 April 1945
Airport closed
The airport was closed (again) in December 2019.

Converted to solar panel field
From a problem report: "Another business has bought the airport and is now using it as a solar panel field. Nobody can access the airport unless authorized."
Airport closed
From a problem report:
Goodbye and thank you from Redlands Airfield.
After 32 years of our operating our grass strip airfield, based in the village of Wanborough to the east of Swindon in Wiltshire, we have now closed.
We would like to thank our customers and supporters for making Redlands a wonderful site for microlights and skydiving - and for the many thousands raised for charity at the airfield.

No strip visible
Originally added in 2008. No landing strip is visible in the satellite imagery, so marking as closed pending further information.
No strip visible
This landing strip was added in 2008. There is nothing visible now in the satellite imagery, so marking as closed pending further information.
Not yet visible in satellite imagery (2020-08-28)
The airport opened in 2017, but as of 2020-08-28, it is not yet visible in the satellite imagery that ESRI is kindly providing (Saint Helena is probably not a high priority for updates). You can, however, see it on the aviation charts, and on Google Maps satellite imagery: https://goo.gl/maps/ocmANAj38hMpKrHW6
Land-use question
Left as an anonymous problem report: "The airport site is not specify at this time and the people is confused ,them farmer is not plough the land ,with apologize solve this problem for short time"
Thank you to the person who pointed this out. Please note that OurAirports.com is *not* an official source of airport information, and the farmer will need to consult the local authorities in Oromia about the land's current status and whether it's OK to plough.

Clubhouse and visitor parking
There are two gravel-paved visitor parking spots beside the fuel pumps, directly across from the clubhouse. The clubhouse has combo access (a code visiting pilots will have no trouble figuring out), a washroom, and vending machines. There's also wifi, but I couldn't find the password posted anywhere on the wall.
Expect to hear only French on the radio in the circuit.

Airport weather
While the airport doesn't have an official METAR, a member mentioned this in a problem report:
Gimli has an AWOS. It is at www.gimliairportawos.com
Garman pilot uses CXGH as a Metar for CYGM. It is the Environment Canada weather at the town of Gimli 1.7 nm from CYGM
Still listed as open
The Canada Flight Supplement up to 10 September 2020 still lists this airport as open, with a note warning that "Rwy 10/28 and 16/34 sfcs deteriorating." From various comments, it doesn't sound practical to use, but someone is still keeping it on the books.
"Peace for our time"
This was the aerodrome where PM Neville Chamberlain arrived back from Munich on 30 September 1938, stood outside the airplane, and waved the Anglo-German declaration for the photographers. The airfield was decommissioned in 1947 when the government chose nearby Heathrow as the site for London's major post-war airport.
