Hi all, I see from the blogs a couple of CJ6/Nanchangs as WIP at Serpentine.

I am trying to locate a good airframe as a project if some one knows of one, selling, etc.

I already operate two in Victoria and looking for another project.

Great day trip for a pie at the Miami Bakehouse next door

Visited this strip for a pie at the Miami bakehouse. Strip is quite rough - fenced on both sides so animals don't get in. Prior permission is required from the owner.

Jetstar International Customer Service

After a very long trip to the international airport to get first hand information on the flight status to Bali....due to the non-communication from Jetstar services re: flights to Bali,it was to our dismay, that no one, absolutely so one from Jetstar was in an information booth or was contactable. No person in attendance at the international airport from an airline that is supposedly, if you believe their advertisments, customer friendly. It has, this past week been a first hand experience of the lack of customer care and duty of care. It has been utterly, frustrating. The natural elements of course one can accept and understand and the airlines do have safety measures that need to be abided by. It is the total lack of duty of care to the paying customers that is unacceptable. I would not ever again, book or fly with Jetstar the subsiduary of Qantas. Qantas too, has been most unhelpful in their duty of care to customers. The customer service officers promised to sms, email and or phone for updates...in the past 7 days, not one sms, email or call. As a social media communicator I will make it a point to inform all, that the service received from this Australian airline and its Mother company, Qantas, were uncommunicative and unsupportive. The decision we make now is to delete all Jetstar and Qantas flights from our international itinerary, regardless of the discounted flights etc. Experience has proved that Jetstar and Qantas, are unacceptably not customer friendly.

re: re: argyleairportaustralia.com

Australia is currently run by people who have virtually no business acumen and do not encourage big or small infrastructure development. Look how Hockey has jumped ship as has done Abbott. They both do not have the guts to sit on the backbench. Currently listen to the whining of Abbott. He stabbed Turnbull and now cannot take his punishment for that error. Both of them just ranted on about road development. Neither had or have the intellect to run this magnificent country. I emplor every Aussie to get behind those who want this country to grow and provide good, interesting work for our young ones. If we cannot do that we fail. Understood.

re: argyleairportaustralia.com

argyleairportaustralia is no longer an Australian company. We are not associated with ASIC in any way. Nor do we wish to in the future. ASIC simply takes money and is run by academic university graduates. ASIC holds back small business and takes from one hand and puts its other in a large pocket. We are a private infrastructure crew who fly by our ethical behaviour. We owe no one any thing particularly the amateur Australia government. Go off shore and prosper.

Wedding

Steve and I (Jan) had our wedding at Forrest Airport (Station) in 2014. And we will be going back for our 1st anniversary. In the midst Forrest Airport was changing managers. But, every thing went so smoothly. Including dragging the relatives there for just only 4 hours;), it is my day right. See them again in 3 months. Jan

When Capithetical (visionary people) is examined, and the Ord River Scheme (Lake Argyle) is understood, the realisation is that the costly infrastructure developed by the Western Australia Government suggest a potential growth in population, that will be required to further advance the wealth of the state.

Not quite long enough for international flights, but could be extended. Maybe too far from Kununurra airport and other infrastructure. Also for export of fresh produce grown by irrigation from Lake Argyle water, would be too far from the growers. However it could feed off a new international airport near Kununurra. Wealthy Chinese tourists would like to fly into the region however to buy diamonds direct.

Jandakot is a Busy Airport

Statistically, this is Australia's busiest airport and it is primarily a VFR airport.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service has a base there and Singapore Airlines have some Learjets there for training but apart from that, the majority of aircraft operaing in and out of Jandakot are Cessna 152 / 172, Piper Warriors and the like.

Most of the traffic is pilot training, from ab-initio to twin IFR.

Many of the trainee pilots are foreign (China Southern has a flying school there) and their levels of English pronunciation and comprehension can vary significantly.

Air Traffic Control is generally very good but there is one miserable, rude, grumpy Tower Controller who is a disgrace to his profession. He is rude, bullying and tries very hard to intimidate pilots - especially the new ones. Fortunately, very senior management in Airservices Australia are aware of him and are monitoring his situation.

The bottom line with Jandakot is that it is a 'see and be seen' airport and you must keep your wits about you.

Make sure you read and understand the local procedures before you operate there.

Perth is a beautiful city and flying there is delightful. Jandakot is also a great airport, but like everything in aviation, it is unforgiving of inadequacy or un-preparedness.

Cheers.

Great day trip

Awesome views, good day trip. There's a bunch of cafe's overlooking the reef and ocean 10mins walk north of the airport (sealed road). If you keep an eye out on takeoff or landing there's also a surprise in one of the forests - see if you can spot it.

Remember circuits are RH on 09 (all are to the south to avoid overflying the settlement) check the ERSA it has full details. https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/aip.asp

Good day trip from Perth

Great for a day trip from Perth. Walk from the strip to the shops for lunch, then walk to Wave Rock. We loved flying there and back.

Great facility

Stayed overnight at Forrest. Great for a break. Airport manager was terrific.

Call in advance to confirm fuel is available.

Last fuel heading east till Forrest

Kal is worth a stop over to see all the mining history.

Refuel here before heading east on the Indian Pacific rail line to Forrest.
