poor shape
this airport is in poor condition, not sure if its really even open as there were small X's on the runway
fees
$309 for a bonanza. not as bad as SFO's $365
Needs TLC
The terminal building really needs some cleaning and TLC. Runway is in good shape.
Can you imagine an airport here?
Per http://www.aerofiles.com/airports-CA.html, "[approx: 37-43-22N, 119-38-09W] (19??-19??) 1927 = W of Yosemite Village; "approximately 1300' square grass field, very dangerous." 1928 = (L) (Standard Oil ad, WnFly 1/28). 19?? = (R) Closed to flying activity." The listed coordinates place this at El Capitan Meadow! This does not appear to be listed on Freeman's Abandoned Airports site.
Nice place to stop for lunch
Nice airport. Even though it's a bit out of town, it's a quick taxi ride into town.

How did that airframe in the satellite image arrive there?

Fiedl 'ident' in CSV file uses old ICAO (HSSS)
I am reporting that the CSV dump of the airport DB for the 'ident' field still uses the old ICAO, HSSS, instead of the new one, HSSK.
(Probably 'keyword' needs changing too)
My understanding is that the 'ident' field is about ICAO code, from the Data dictionary page (https://ourairports.com/help/data-dictionary.html):
"The text identifier used in the OurAirports URL. This will be the ICAO code if available. Otherwise, it will be a local airport code (if no conflict), or if nothing else is available, an internally-generated code starting with the ISO2 country code, followed by a dash and a four-digit number."

Great Facility
Visited April 2021. Friendly "manager", helped with self serve fuel. Courtesy vehicle available. Great dinosaur museum in town.
Repurposing duplicate
This was previously a duplicate heading for Mestia Airport -- it's been repurposed for a heliport near Tbilisi.
home of the RAF Lightning's of no 5,no 11 and the Lightning
RAF Binbrook as an airfield is in a sorry state.runways and taxyways gone and the site is a haulage yard. Lightning F6 XR724 is looking sad and unloved despite flying home to Binbrook in 1992 after Warton finished using it as a chase aircraft for radar tests. it was hoped it would remain flying on the airshow circuit if the C.A.A. would allow. which they didn't. after runways and taxyways were ripped up and disputes with the new land owners, XR724 sits stranded, needing massive amounts of engineering, time and love to see it hopefully join Bruntingthorpe's 2 fast taxying Lightnings.
Site of Arizona Flying Circus Fly-in
Not quite the same location as the old dedicated airfield to the west, but in a way this resort continues to have aviation facilities in the 21st century. Pretty neat.
21 Apr 2021 Accident
US Army CV-22 Osprey accidentally destroyed this helipad's surface on 21 Apr 2021. Whoops! https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/us-military-helicopter-helipad-destroy-addenbrooke-hospital-b931223.html

What a fun approach! Met family there and when the attendant saw kids come into the airport, he gave them all rubber band balsa gliders.
Great Ranch!
Highly recommend, permission required to land but definitely a great place to visit! Go on a safari and shoot a flamethrower!
Nice Airport
This is a very nice airprort
My Experience
Wouldn't Even Talk About This Airport If It Didn't Have A White Castle And The World's Largest Chevron. Very Nice Airport.
Very Crammed Airport
So Many Stuff And People Its Hard To Get Around. Outside I Hear Lots Of Cars. Worse Density Than SFO Or Even JFK Airport
My Experience
Vegas Is Very Nice Compared To NYC. A Beautiful City Near Lake Mead.
Brand New Laguardia
A Brand New Modern Airport! I Am Glad To Only Be A 15 Minute Drive FROM It.
Very Nice Flight Service
Nice Airport, Modern, Nice, Lots Of Things To Do. My Flight To Vancouver Was Wonderful!
My Experience
Very Nice Airport, Just The Taxis And Luggage Are Areas They NEED To Improve On
Airline Service = yes
American is operating to Phoenix and Dallas, United to Denver.
Found it
Sometimes, the FAA coordinates are just plain wrong. I found this airstrip using Topo Maps and the address of the owner. It's closed now, but you can at least see where the airstrip was cleared out in past years.
ew no wtf butt?
wtf!! butt why noooo1!11!!!
CLOSED
The Happy Valley Airport has been closed since at least 2009. Additionally, the runway is now being used as a driveway for a large house built at its southern end.
The Entire Airport Got Revamped
I Like How My Closest Airport To Me Got Changed ENTIRELY, The Terminals Are Now Different, and More Signs And Services Have Been Built
A Very Nice Airport
Welcome To The Conch Republic or USA! This airport is very nice and I like how it pinpoints the existence of the Conch Republic, i would have not known if it didn't Say "WELCOME TO THE CONCH REPUBLIC" On The Wall.
ROUGH pavement
There are so many weeds growing through the cracks this might as well be a grass strip

Sometimes HEMS helicopters land there, usually there are stupid car drifters are at the helipad, drifting and chilling...

WWII Airstrip
Not to be confused with the modern Talasea Airport to the north, this is the site of two crashed WWII planes (a B-25 Mitchell and a Lockheed Ventura) still clearly visible in 2021.
Used for 1992 Landing of Mickey Mouse One
Upon the retirement of Walt Disney's private plane Mickey Mouse One (Grumman Gulfsream I N234MM) in 1992, it landed here to be displayed at the adjacent MGM (now Hollywood Studios), as the old Walt Disney World Airport to the north had been blocked off by the construction of the monorail system. Further use of the site for aviation purposes has been permanently precluded by the No Fly Zone orders in place since 2001.
odd place for a airport
YEAH VERY ODD
A bit of forgotten aviation history
New York Airways ran helicopter commuter flights here 1965-1968, and again briefly in 1977. A landing accident here on May 16, 1977 killed four passengers and a pedestrian on the street below, ending the use of skyscraper helipads in New York City, though they remain in use in other cities elsewhere, primarily for emergency use.
Future star
Ludhaina is a business hub shortly ludhaina International Airport became number 1 airport in this area
My Experience

My Experience
Yuma Is Also A Nice Town To Vacation In @Apollu1 , and it is a very nice airport. It also has a pretty nice terminal.
My Experience
A Very Nice Airport, Went here a few times.
Warning: high landing fee, GA not welcome
City council has forced the airport to institute a $35 landing fee (+HST, presumably). There are no exceptions, not even for resident pilots or pilots purchasing fuel. The fee is more than double that of CYTZ, which is downtown in Canada's biggest city.
I suggest taking your travel business to nearby Wiarton CYVV, instead -- it still welcomes GA.

β @animebirder at Berlin-Tegel Otto Lilienthal Airport, Germany
TXL saw its last flight on 8 November 2020 after all traffic had been transferred gradually to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport until this date. It has been legally decommissioned as an airfield after a mandatory transitional period on 4 May 2021. All government flights were also relocated to the new airport with the exception of helicopter operations which will stay at a separate area on the northern side of Tegel Airport until 2029.
