History
Abbas Ibn Firnas Airport was operational as a major passenger airport from 1945 until May 1981. It was opened in 1939 as a military airstrip. Through its operational years, it had 4 runways. It had two original runways, one E/W crosswind runway which was closed, and one runway which was requisitioned as a taxiway. Two new runways were built between 1970 and 1980. Today, not much remains of the airport.
Brief History
According to local Thai historians, the original temporary airstrip was located here. In 1954, it was closed when the new Loei Airport opened.

After unloading, this aircraft quickly loaded express mail and returned to flight. This marks the opening and operation of cargo route of Ezhou HuaHu Airport.

Great little airport
Uncontrolled, and out of reach usually from area control. Tricky nlanding when wind is blowing, and fun approach over the sea. Need to do a fly over to check for obstructions like pigs, dogs and cattle before landing :)

This is an outdated information. The city's official name is Khankendi. It is currently under effective control of Azerbaijani government. The international recognition has not changed - it was and still is being recognized as part of Azerbaijan by international community.

Tsushima Yamaneko Airport 対馬やまねこ空港
Very small (but neat) airport which is served by only 2 cities in Kyushu: Fukuoka and Nagasaki. Planes flying there are all De Havilland Canada propeller machines. There is one souvenir shop inside the airport with a very small cafe corner adjacent to it. The name in Japanese has the Tsushima Leopard Cat included which is indigenous to the island and the airport is full of cat mascots.
