International?
Bacolod-Silay International Airport will indeed be true to its name if there will be international flights to Bacolod-Silay Airport, because of a steady stream of tourists, businessmen, sportsmen and students, etc, who will come to Negros. Surely the opportunities are abundant, though hotels and lodging facilities, etc. need to be upgraded to international standards. Bacolod is quite clean. There is a need for aggressive advertisement to these effect. But until now the airport runway is short! The aircon in the pre-departure area does not work! The pre-departure area is quite small compared to the volume of passengers, thus it is crowded! Should there not be an annex building? What happened to the approved plan to extend the runway by 500 meters to accommodate the bigger Airbus 330? At present the runway length is even shorter than that of Cagayan de Oro!
What does the latest census or survey say as to what countries the visitors to Negros come from? Then the international budget airlines can link Bacolod to those countries/cities.

maharastra government has approved the the airport in 2008 -2009 it no work has started on amravati airport this slow process of the government is alo affecting the industrial growth of amravati city i.e 5 start midc amravati multiproduct sez near nandgaon peth eldeco company was supposed to develope this sez because of the maharastra government's policies they have given back around 1000 hectare of land back to midc (maharastra industrial developement corporation) which is very famous for not developeing the industries where there are less industries, if the ministers of the region are very powerful then only the industries come to those places,cities in maharastra otherwise midc is good for nothing that's why the peopel of amravati were having hopes as it is declaired as sez but then again the government has withdrawn the incentives declaired earlier for amravati sez that's why the comapnies are not taking much interest to set up a plant in amravati sez.
again bad news for people and younger generation of vidharbha and amravati region.

when flights will start to Jalgaon from Mumbai and Pune.It is too late. Other cities of similar catagory started flights long back. President Pratibhatai Patil has taken initiatives for making Jalgaon airport operational ,but no commecial flight operations. Pl revert .

The runway asphalt need to overlayed. No fixedwing aircraft landed here since year 2009,the only air transportation was helicopter coming from Ngurahrai (Denpasar.Bali) chartered by Pt.KEI for the employee crew changes.

It's not pune or baramati, hence the amravati airport developement is rejected by maharastra government and and the previous civil aviation minister praful patel who is also from vidharbha but opposes the developement work of amravati airport in vidharbha.only god can do the developement in vidharbha region of maharastra. I hope in the coming 10 -15 years it may complete. ha ha ha jai vidharbha, get a separate vidharbha otherwise ready to loose all the developement work for another 40 -50 years, becoming a part of sanykata mahrastra is in 1960 was a very big mistake, now maharastra goverment is fighting for belgaon with karnataka government but not doing anything for vidharbha. shame on maharastra government.(western maharastra government)

* The terminals stink of numerous foul odors at all times. (You can even see the military security agents smoking while standing under signs that forbid it.)
* Gate changes occur more than 75% of the time and delayed flights a higher percentage.
* The air traffic controllers "double stack" the flights to make their breaks longer. Double stacking is an illegal and unsafe practice where the runway isn't cleared before the next plane begins its final approach. If there were an equipment malfunction with a plan which has already landed that would keep it from being moved from the runway, a collision would be likely.
* Visas are a nightmare. There is no line/queue despite the illusion set forth by the digital signs. The visa agents will leave while processing a visa if it is time for a break or shift change, leaving the passenger in limbo.
* All alcohol is strictly forbidden (for non-Kuwaitis). Even bringing a small wine bottle off the plane can land an unsuspecting passenger in prison. At best, it will be confiscated (to later be sold or consumed by the arresting officer).
My advice... avoid Kuwait at all costs! Don't even land for a connecting flight unless there is no possible way to avoid it.
