Both NDBs deleted

I've removed both of the decommissioned NDBs formerly associated with the airport.

Friendly, great fuel price and a courtesy car!

Great airport to stop at, the super friendly fuel system owner gave me a beverage and helped me fuel my airplane; the courtesy car was a great thing to have use of too.

Appears closed

I can see traces of the old runways, still, but this doesn't look like an operational airport. Please leave a comment if you have any further information.

As of the fall of 2015. We lost the owner, Gord Farrow. The field is unknown at this time having to do with maintenance. .

re: IPhone app

OurAirports does not produce any iPhone or Android apps β€” perhaps you were looking at an app that uses the open data that we publish.

Close it

@Bill35's location is only 0.74 nautical miles from my location. Still doesn't look like an airport.

Been there when they had a BBQ and auction for a blimp

Possible alternative location

@Bill35 found a different location in a 1996 Tactical Pilotage Chart (UK Ministry of Defence military survey): -17.0049 30.8961

Zooming in shows something that might once have been a runway there, though it's much rutted and crossed by paths now. I wonder if Zimbabwe is simply reluctant to let international authorities know about how much infrastructure it has let decay during its decades of economic trouble, so it wants to keep this on the books (number of airports is one of the indicators used in international development).

In any case, we need to decide (a) whether to move the marker per the 1996 chart, and (b) whether to mark the airport as "closed" based on its visible state in the sat view. Thoughts?

Start the airport ....take jalgaon to glory

Start the airport at the earliest.... Connectivity is the first major step towards development n for the convenience of people here please start flights to pune n Mumbai

Think about the passagers.

We have now been sitting on a plane at OR Tambo for 50min because of bad weather - which is definately not the airports fault. However, when we are told that we are nr 13 in line to take off (after 50min), my question is "Why did you not give the flight a delayed status and leave us in the airport building where we would at least be comfortable and could get something to eat". Your conveniance when it comes to staying on schedule should not be put above your customers wellbeing. Sitting on a plane for an extra hour - means the Cape Town flight is now 3 hours long!!!!!!

Solar Powered !

The airport is now completely powered by a solar farm situated right next to it. Zoom in on the map to the north west of the terminals.

Awaiting the reopen of Neyveli Airport

As many people are overseas and some from nearby towns around naively are in major cities in India, I am very sure Neyveli airport will run profitably. So, I request the government of India and the airport authorities to reconsider reopening the airport at least few days a week in the beginning.

You may also note that most of the employees in the NLC are from other parts of the states too. So, the operation of Neyveli will be quite useful to the public and successful.

Awaiting your response.

Thank You.

runway repair

Is there any repair being done to the runway of the international airport? How long will this go on? And what is its effect on airlines take-off/landing?

Picture of ptomblin

Maybe?

It's still in my Eurocontrol/EAD data dump, although the location is slightly different. It still doesn't look like much of an airport on Google Earth, though.

Great Saturday Pancake Breakfast!!!

Went to the monthly pancake breakfast at Modesto. It's on the second Saturday of every month. Some aircraft are on display so families can check out the planes after the breakfast. 6 bucks for a lot of good food. Not a bad deal at all. Controllers are also some of the friendliest I've ever heard, made me feel welcome!

Will be back!

Career Contact

Hello, is there someone I can contact regarding a possible career opportunity within the airfield?

Double entry, mr admin pls remove

Picture of david

Don't see an airport here

Unless that straight stretch of road doubles as a landing strip, I suspect that the source for this airport (Great Circle Mapper) just used the lat/lon of the village. Marking as closed until we have more information.

PoE?!

Is it open?!, and is it considered a point of entry if I'm flying to Egypt?!

There is no airport at this location

Having just returned from Limon on a visit that walked by this location I can confidently state that there is no airport at the marked location. So far as I know there is no airport anywhere in Limon.

Locals told me that there is a private landing strip some miles away, or at least there used to be, but I don't know exactly where nor whether it is still there.
