Amazing
What an amazing experience
Refuelling at cobar
Didn't need fuel but on route from Walgett to Mildura I planned to top up ( always like more than enough in my tanks ), I called the refueller after we landed and he said there was an $85 call out fee, so I told him thanks but no thanks. We used the rest room ( filthy ) and got back in the plane only to see the refueller standing next to us right beside the pump, I opened the cockpit door and asked if there was still a call out fee seeing as he was here now. The reply without even looking up from his mobile phone was , yep ( and with attitude ). If this guy is working for himself I would not expect to see him there much longer, and if he is working for some one then an employment review must be imminent
Beaut place to visit.
Weather great. Security excellent for plane parking and air traffic controllers very helpful and obliging. Terminal facilities really good too.
Great facilities
Beautiful new terminal with excellent cafe, toilets and plane parking. Mildura is a great spot for a weekend getaway all year round. Have been there a few times and will certainly be back.
General comment
Good facilities at the airport. Short walk to the town. RSL good place for a meal. Accomodation very average, but people friendly enough. Very daunting on first impressions as everything has security fencing and grills to avoid damage from some sections of the community.
AVGAS RIP OFF
Pulled in for a break on way back from Queensland and thought may as well get a bit of fuel while there. Fuel guy was just next to his truck and bowser so thought that was convenient, only to be told there was an $85.00 call out fee!! This guy is certainly doing wonders for the tourism industry in this town as I will be making sure I tell all my fellow flyers to avoid the place unless absolutely necessary.
Low flying planes
anyone who cares to check will find that 500 metres (1650 feet) approx is quite legal as the regulations state that minimum level above built up areas is 1500'.
comment
Garasa is at wakaia, not au.
Low flying bi-plane
I am writing to council and ombudsman about the gold-coloured bi plane imposing over the township of Brunswick heads. today you are flying only about 500 metres above the market area fir the benefit of one or two people and terrorizing about 1000 market goers, tourists and voters all congregating in and around the Brunswick Heads township. It is illegal to fly so low and I will ensure you adhere to the rules and regulations.

Not quite long enough for international flights, but could be extended. Maybe too far from Kununurra airport and other infrastructure. Also for export of fresh produce grown by irrigation from Lake Argyle water, would be too far from the growers. However it could feed off a new international airport near Kununurra. Wealthy Chinese tourists would like to fly into the region however to buy diamonds direct.

BAC aaivals database.
BAC has useless data base of arrivals at the International Terminal. NZ7915 from Wellington is not shown at all. Why not? Air New Zealand website shows it as arriving tonight at 2211 hrs.
re: Question
no because caboolture aerodrome is too small for those types of planes
Question
Does qantas or any other airline fly,to caboolture from major citys
Helicopters all night long
Do the helicopters come from Tooradin? We have had them disturbing our sleep for the past three weeks or so. We live in Koo Wee Rup and can't find out whom to ask.
Jandakot is a Busy Airport
Statistically, this is Australia's busiest airport and it is primarily a VFR airport.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service has a base there and Singapore Airlines have some Learjets there for training but apart from that, the majority of aircraft operaing in and out of Jandakot are Cessna 152 / 172, Piper Warriors and the like.
Most of the traffic is pilot training, from ab-initio to twin IFR.
Many of the trainee pilots are foreign (China Southern has a flying school there) and their levels of English pronunciation and comprehension can vary significantly.
Air Traffic Control is generally very good but there is one miserable, rude, grumpy Tower Controller who is a disgrace to his profession. He is rude, bullying and tries very hard to intimidate pilots - especially the new ones. Fortunately, very senior management in Airservices Australia are aware of him and are monitoring his situation.
The bottom line with Jandakot is that it is a 'see and be seen' airport and you must keep your wits about you.
Make sure you read and understand the local procedures before you operate there.
Perth is a beautiful city and flying there is delightful. Jandakot is also a great airport, but like everything in aviation, it is unforgiving of inadequacy or un-preparedness.
Cheers.
hopefully ypu get this

Flew in with a mate the other day with intentions of refueling.
Incredibly daunting to join the circuit as 2 runways in operation, 90 degrees to each other and busy.
My mate wanted to join the circuit to land on 03 but 03 and , I think, 32 were is constant alternating use by local training aircraft.
Out of determination, he finally managed to join the circuit for 03.
When he commented to some tall lanky chap with a Adelaide Biplanes shirt, who therefore must have been part of the regime, he was asked if he had a GA licence and doesn't he know how to join a circuit. What arrogant crap. I think I must agree that some Pommie (as per comments on this site) arrogance must have rubbed off on this chap.
He was that pissed off that he decided to give refueling a miss and go to Goolwa.
Whow, it took about 15 min to try and enter 03, line up and take off.
A hair raising and frustrating experience.
There was some parachuting and flying activity at Goolwa but nothing like the hassle to join the circuit as Aldinga.
Have to give that a miss in the future.
But what about some rules and applying some airman ship. How do the students cope?
Well, its as my mate explained.
There is probably a local instructor in the aircraft as well and they simply time the circuits or do a bigger circuit or whatever they have to do so as to facilitate a landing on 03, then 32 and so on.
Makes it hard for anyone flying in there and in my view, dangerous.
I have read the comments on this site and would agree that there must be times when this does not happen.
And then it may be a nice place, but for me and my mate, never ever again.
Dammed glad to have gone to Goolwa and finally back to our aerodrome.

Tour?
My little boy absolutely loves aeroplanes and helicopters and I was wondering if it is possible to bring him down to look around and maybe sit in a plane?
POM
A reasonable international terminal but nothing to rave on about. Duty Free can be more expensive than buying locally! Customs can be cramped upon arrival and offers little assistance for passengers with disabilities. Once through the humidity hits you! A great nation which I have had involvement with or have lived in for over 40 years.
Flights
I was wondering if there were any direct flights from Melbourne to Braidwood. Unable to find any so any help would be great
Contact Imformation
i am finding it extremely dificult to get your contact details.
re: Wrong identifier
Confirmed - my Eurocontrol data shows it as YSFG and "Stonefield Gliding" as well. Updated.
Wrong identifier
This is YSFG not YSFL - for Stonefield Gliding.
Flight info for incoming international flight
It is 1 pm and I needed flight info for a 4 pm arrival. Your screen went to only 3 pm. So I changed the times in your chart to to 3 to 6 pm arrivals, guess what it didn't do it it kept coming up with the 3 pm cut off. Hopeless. If you put this in your site make sure it !?,',,, works
Kumul Platform NDB Frequency Wrong
KUT is not 174 kHz. It is 1737 kHz. The same with GA 173 should be 1725 kHz. This is a problem with OurAirports.com. Looks like all frequencies with nnnn kHz are shortened to nnn (the first three numbers).
re: WHERE DOES ONE START? SIGNAGE ETC.
Oh. Could not agree more. Sydney airport...what I would like to describe it as and it's staff would is too disgusting.

Mian
There are 3,500 or so speakers of the language known as Mian. They're all in Sundaun Province, PNG. And Yapsiei is one of the 4 villages where it is spoken, according to the book about endangered and lost languages of the world edited by Peter K. Austin.
Yea airport - Really? I'll give it a miss!
The location given for this "Airport" is right in the middle of the mountains and in amongst the trees! Tiger country! It is also on a bearing of approx 090 and 39 Nm out from Yea, across step mountains and a lake!
Rather than the "Zero" elevation given it appears to be around 3100 feet!

Miles airport upgrade
The current airport is closed (NOTAM) for upgrading. Bitumen strip to take aircraft the size of the Dash 8. No idea on the estimated completion date.
Airport is about 10Km south of the town.
Hope this helps.
