Very nice.

Very nice airport but should add another runway.

Good, but....

Very nice airport but I think the dirt runway should be paved. This is the message from my ACC.

A country air dome

I visited the air dome when I had a flight review on 15th of Oct 2017.

It was nice to drop here for having some T & Gos in the C-X flight.

Gawler Airfield.

Avgas is available, pay at Adelaide Soaring Club office if a visiting pilot.

Read the following documents on the ASC Website

Visiting Pilots Guide: http://adelaidesoaring.on.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Gawler-Fly-In-Instructions-July-2017.pdf

ASC By-Law 7: http://adelaidesoaring.on.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/ASC-By-Law-7-v3-Gawler-Airfield-Operational-Guidelines.pdf

If you read these documents you should be fine flying into Gawler. All pilots are friendly and welcoming. Accommodation is also available on the airfield. Pop by the ASC office for a chat and more information. We don't bite at Gawler :P

Updated August 2017

I flew into the strip after getting permission from the owner via phone (number in AOPA guide on ozrunways). It had been raining heavy in the week leading up, but the strip was still usable, but you need to stay off the grass as it is quite soft. Also the first 100m of 09 was a bit boggy so I landed long. I was in a c172. Yes it is narrow, and 27 has an up hill slope from the threshold, but not a problem if you have landed on such strips before. Be careful of 09 departures at high density altitude/MTOW due to rising ground after departure. Landing fee payable in the shed, there is a money slot. All up a good strip, lovely location.

lots of training aircraft, this is where Cathay, uni sa, and many other school run out from, 4 strips = 8 runways, most people with private aircraft generally would hanger in this location, has BP av fuel and tankers which cruise around topping up AC, quality ATC as they are used to trainees and are forgiving with poor radio calls, runways are over 1000m so heaps of room for landing

Give me a break!

Food for thought: What would happen if you ever needed an emergency flight by the Royal Flying Doctor Service or Air Ambulance or Care Flight. These aircraft aren't manufactured with pilots in them, no, they have to do lots training both on the ground and airborne and whilst you might think the pilot flying overhead is annoying he or she just might save your life or that of one of your family one day. So instead of lambasting them for upsetting your peace and quiet say a little prayer of thanks that they are doing something worthwhile with their lives. Next time you take off in a jumbo jet there's a real human being up front, in fact two, one is a pilot and the other is his co-pilot and without them the aircraft doesn't take off. When there are no aircraft flying that's the time to start worrying.

Ingelara airstrip

Today June 5 2017 I took off from Ingelara airstrip. I know I have written here before but I have to say a very big thank you to Stuart and Cheree Ogg who are wonderful people in allowing us aviators the opportunity to fly to Carnarvon Gorge, without their generosity it would not be possible to do so. The airstrip is in terrific condition ideal for my C182. There is a windsock and the elevation is 1100 feet.I believe they should charge a landing fee but what ever they get is given to the RFDS. I think a minimum of $50 is appropriate. Please remember Rewan is now closed and on any case Ingelara is far superior in my opinion and I have been flying for 57 years. Thank you Stuart and Cheree. REAL AIRPORT?

Hi,

I was wondering if this is an actual airport because on google images it just looks like factories.

Picture of

Where is this all coming from?

I'm reading all the negative comments and can't understand where it is all coming from...

I've been doing my flight training at Lilydale for the past year and it has been nothing but a great experience! Best value for money training that I could find in the greater Melbourne area. They have friendly and proficient instructors and staff. No landing fees, short taxi ways and you don't have to wait ages for clearance.

I would highly recommend a visit!

COY Apron

The apron for YCOY is at the South Western end, there are 2 Cessna's that park up near the "bowser", there is a third (and maybe fourth) tie down directly behind them (old tyres and rope).

AVGAS is NOT available, closest available is YCAR roughly 100nm South (Self serve bowser, security controlled AP), call the guys at Ningaloo Reef Dive and talk to the Chief Pilot (currently Paul) for any info.

We flew in there in a 172 late March 2017, was a beautiful strip and an amazing approach, Enjoy!

Low flying plane for more than an hour this morning!

We live in myocum & most mornings we are woken to the noise of low flying planes. One in particular flies over & over for ages. Why can't they fly out to sea instead of flying over a residential area? Seems as they are a law unto themselves. Planes have been continuously flying low over our house for over an hour this morning!

Ingelara details

To The owners.

Can you please tell us the airfield height and whether you have circuit procedures etc? Also, another poster mentioned landing fees. Can you please tell us how much they are (as of April 2017)? We hope to be flying in around the 1-2 May 2017 in company with some other airplanes, mostly ultralights.

Looking forward to seeing you out there and your beautiful part of the country.

TIF @ YMPC

I did a TIF with another flying school here. Very nice VFR flying that can be done If you head northwest of the aerodrome. Circuits are also fun as you are commonly there with CT4As and sometimes PC9s as well.
