REAL AIRPORT?
Hi,
I was wondering if this is an actual airport because on google images it just looks like factories.
Where is this all coming from?
I'm reading all the negative comments and can't understand where it is all coming from...
I've been doing my flight training at Lilydale for the past year and it has been nothing but a great experience! Best value for money training that I could find in the greater Melbourne area. They have friendly and proficient instructors and staff. No landing fees, short taxi ways and you don't have to wait ages for clearance.
I would highly recommend a visit!

COY Apron
The apron for YCOY is at the South Western end, there are 2 Cessna's that park up near the "bowser", there is a third (and maybe fourth) tie down directly behind them (old tyres and rope).
AVGAS is NOT available, closest available is YCAR roughly 100nm South (Self serve bowser, security controlled AP), call the guys at Ningaloo Reef Dive and talk to the Chief Pilot (currently Paul) for any info.
We flew in there in a 172 late March 2017, was a beautiful strip and an amazing approach, Enjoy!
BLOODY ANNOYING AIRCRAFT ABOVE US!!!!!
For the past week, small aircraft have been flying constantly all and everyday for the past week......Can someone please put a STOP to this as it's VERY inconsiderate of our peace and quiet around the area of Ocean Shores and other areas......Please act ASAP!!!!
Thank you
Low flying plane for more than an hour this morning!
We live in myocum & most mornings we are woken to the noise of low flying planes. One in particular flies over & over for ages. Why can't they fly out to sea instead of flying over a residential area? Seems as they are a law unto themselves. Planes have been continuously flying low over our house for over an hour this morning!
Ingelara details
To The owners.
Can you please tell us the airfield height and whether you have circuit procedures etc? Also, another poster mentioned landing fees. Can you please tell us how much they are (as of April 2017)? We hope to be flying in around the 1-2 May 2017 in company with some other airplanes, mostly ultralights.
Looking forward to seeing you out there and your beautiful part of the country.

TIF @ YMPC
I did a TIF with another flying school here. Very nice VFR flying that can be done If you head northwest of the aerodrome. Circuits are also fun as you are commonly there with CT4As and sometimes PC9s as well.

Runway Upgrade
Work has began to lengthened the current 9/27 runway from 1,830m to 2,200m & the surface is also going to be thickened to allow for heavier aircraft there is also talk about the airport having a tower installed due to increases traffic.
Fuel
You can only use a BP carnet card! Be warned, and if you need a call out it will cost >$250
Curry
Head for the Golden India, such great curries and we fly there just to enjoy one.
Nice place but expensive
Stayed overnight at Forrest with my Daughterand re-fuled. Great for a stopover or break. Airport manager and his wife were terrific, and the dinner was great, but it was the most expensive leg of my whole trip round Oz :(
Ground transport

Danger!
PPR required, and power lines to the north (Don't try and over fly) and Power line to the south across the strip (You have to fly under it)!!

Hard to get PPR, have to follow lots of rules, but friendly with fuel.
Great place
A great place, welcoming and friendly with a fantastic club house with beds up stirs and a shower

Nice Place
Easy to get fuel 100LL or the sorvo on the edge of the field, also a good shop and does a nice fish and chips

What is the Latitude & Longitude of this Airport, YLKN? I ask for my Flight Simulator. I cannot find it & I have looked for hours! Thanks
Amendment to YLAG
YLAG is not 620m in length, It's a privately owned grass strip, permission to land required, Max usable length is 500m with an approx. 1% rise from each end to mid runway.Sand dunes at NE & high trees at SW end of strip
No airport here
No airport at this location

Wrong spot!
The Omeo airstrip is to the SE of the township on the Great Alpine Road. Roughly 14/32. It's in the country airstrip guide.
Low flying plane for over 25 minutes today!
Who are the idiot joyriders plaguing us with continuous low swoops over our property and surrounding area of Myocum? ah, is this yet again the way our rights to peace and quiet are to be invaded by tourists and other jokers in planes? This plane was just above the gums on their lowest swoop.

This airfield used to be used by the Pakenham Commando Skydivers (commandoskydivers.com.au), who have since moved their operations to Tooradin. YTDN
The Pakenham airfield will never open again, considering all of the housing, factories and other things that are on it now.
THE BEST
Third Sunday of the month is the time to be there. Morning tea and lunch $15 the lot. Coffee, tea and wine for the non flyers can also be purchased. A truly great bunch of ladies and guys. FANTASTIC facilities.

ARRIVALS INFORMATION BOARD
WHere is it?? Everywhere else in the world there is a big board which I can read from 40 paces. In Oerth it is a small TV screen and I have to be within 5 meters to read it. Still no status Just a " due" time Wake up Perth.
Adelaide Biplanes comments.
(Reposted as my earlier post didn't include my name.)
I read the on this thread while researching flying schools before starting lessons some 3 months ago.
I drove to Murray Bridge, and to Parafield, and when I went for a look-see at Aldinga (after the comments below) I expected a frosty welcome, perhaps expensive food, and worse.
What I found instead is a warm family-run business, a guided walk over to the school's aircraft parked across the beautiful lawn area so I could see their quality and equipment, and nothing but respect and warmth.
Of the four schools I visited and spoke with (and I took the TIF with another school), Adelaide Biplanes was by far the most welcoming.
Not only that, their aircraft were the most professionally presented and newer. And also the best priced in the category I'm flying.
I am surprised at the slurs on this page from anonymous posters, and in my eyes that says more about them than the good folks at Adelaide Biplanes.
To anyone else reading this thread, don't accept the comments below as truth - go visit them yourself and make up your own mind.

GREAT LITTLE BUSH STRIP
I learnt to fly based at this strip and found the owner (Bob McIntyre) to be the nicest of blokes you will meet. Bob maintains the strip in an immaculate state and is keen to say gudday to all those that drop in.
The strip is set in amongst his sugarcane crops and is a very picturesque location so take your camera.

Ingelara airstrip
🔗 Mon, 05 Jun 2017
— Anonymous Flyer at Ingelara Airport, Australia
Today June 5 2017 I took off from Ingelara airstrip. I know I have written here before but I have to say a very big thank you to Stuart and Cheree Ogg who are wonderful people in allowing us aviators the opportunity to fly to Carnarvon Gorge, without their generosity it would not be possible to do so. The airstrip is in terrific condition ideal for my C182. There is a windsock and the elevation is 1100 feet.I believe they should charge a landing fee but what ever they get is given to the RFDS. I think a minimum of $50 is appropriate. Please remember Rewan is now closed and on any case Ingelara is far superior in my opinion and I have been flying for 57 years. Thank you Stuart and Cheree.
