Back in 1999 I was traveling to Australia for business. I managed to spend some time visiting Cairns. I flew up from Sydney on a 747-SP, walked down the jet stairs on to the apron - cool! Then later on in the week I rented a C172, VH-WHK, along with an instructor to fly up the coastline sight seeing. Amazing! I also was amazed to see an HF radio in this C172 - but this made sense, since you are often in the outback. Great times - I hope it is still the same or better.

I sort of got fascinated by the idea of private flying when I saw those Cessnas next to Herb's and a friend showed me the mechanic; and I wanted to find out about the history of that airport; would you know the year it was opened?
And a question for CL 1960: how much does it cost to land in the grass in an informal airport such as this one?

its my first time to go back pinas arriving on DM airport sa Clark. im bringing a tv which only 32 inch. I got stuck with the custody officer kasi daw ng exceed ng 10,000 ang dala ko sa dapat ako mgbyad ng tax for the tv i bought... i was shock sa total amount of tax... 15% custom tax + 12% vat = 27% total tax... Im not the only one who bring home tv during that time we are 5 in the plane some bringing 40,42 & 32 inch, but im the only one na hinarang and they ask me to go to the office to calculate ung babayaran ko.. If may policy kyo na gnyan i post nio sa Airport explaining ung mga tax na gusto nio ipabayad at hindi ung manual kyo ngcocompute halatado na ibubulsa nio lang ung makokolekta nio... At why of all mga kapwa nio Pinoy ang sinisingil nio samantalang ang dmi foreign na dapat singilin sa excess baggage plang masyado nio na pinapaboran ang ibang nation... Tingin ko hindi na kailangan pangalanan ang mga officer na ito kasi ito na ang normal na gawain ng mga matatakaw na officer dyan at alam na kung sino ang mga ito wla lng ngrereklamo formal sa maraming dahilan isa na dyan,ung abala sa pgsampa ng reklamo at sa huli mpupunta lng sa wala,.. Thats why the airport in OWEN SOUND is called Billy Bishop and was called that first. So good job Toronto, you couldnt think up something original and had to steal OWEN SOUND's airport name.

Excellent destination
Huge runway, easy to find, useful unicom and friendly folks in the FBO - great place to go, a useful alternative to Muskoka. Unfortunately, uncontrolled - but otherwise absolutely recommended to visit. Watch out for the floatplanes approaching - they actually complete a normal circuit for the runway 17, only to skim the concrete surface and land in a pond at the end of it! Looks unusual...

I parked the tempo traveller van TN 31 AE 0701[ AKR Group] on 3-11-2011 at 06.00 AM in ordinary car parking area beyond police station. They issued a machine receipt RS 100/- for premium parking . When I came back with my family at 11.45 AM they asked to pay RS 100/- more. But in AIRPORT AUTHORITY OF INDIA displayed tariff is VAN/MINIBUS/COACH Rs 70/-. The contractor KARNATAKA AVIATION SUPPORT SERVICE PVT LTD [KASS] Collecting unauthorised charges for van parking. So kindly take necessary action and suggest to fix boards indicating van /car premium and ordinary charges/ areas, also advice to licensee to avoid this types of robberies.

Great Spot. Fuel. No landing fees. It's a good alternative to Port Augusta. The AP Manager is a top bloke.

A high tension powerline runs accross the runway 18 threshold. Landings are to the north only, takeoffs to the south only.

The Cargair base at Lac Kaigamac is closed, fuel is available a few miles north at the Marina "Nautique" in St-Michel-des-Saints on Lac Taureau

It's a scam. Go to a reputable breeder in your own country, preferably one where you can go visit the facilities and see that the animals are happy and healthy. You might think it's expensive, but it's way cheaper than what people are getting scammed for, and you'll actually end up with a puppy, not just a lot of promises.

I have never done anything like this before. I saw a puppy at a Hungarian website and made contact with the breeder.

She said she travled to Victoria East Bay botanic garden research center in Cameroon. She says the climate is not good for Timmy. Please do not send any money to these people.
My stay on the airport
Due to the heavy foc over the Seine I had to abort my flight with the Mistral PH-2R8 from Lelystad (EHLE) in the Netherlands to Pont sur Yonne (LFGO) and had to land on La Ferté Gaucher.
I was welcomed very friendly bij people of the local "club ULM" and offered all the help I need (hangerspace, fuel).
There was a nice hotel and restaurant at the airport, so I had a good night sleep and reached my destination the next morning.

Residing in Atlanta and use the Atlanta Airport for both domestic and international travel. I have been through many airports throughout the world and find the Atlanta Airport to be one of the best. The airport has a north and south terminal that are combined together. The rail system maks it extremely easy to navigate between terminals. A new separate international terminal is scheduled to open in 2012, which should make it very efficient with international travel and going through CBP.

Landed there a couple of weeks back ona VFR from Picton to St. Thomas. Fuel staff were really friendly. Kinda like landing on an aircraft carrier when you approach on 26 and the traffic on the road about 40 feet below can be distracting but a nice challenge to your concentration.

Good sand strip but private. Cranky mob unless you are really stuck. No drinking water, no fuel (even if caught out) or facilities other a bit of a gunyah to get of the sun. Best to head to Lockhart. Mail service uses strip most Wednesdays. Flying Doctor calls also.
