Embarrassed to be Vietnamese
Customs official asked brother where he was "hiding" his money when going through departure customs. Brother wasn't hiding any, had less than $20 USD in his wallet. This airport is corrupt, every single relative I know of talks about having to bribe officials when they return to Vietnam.
As a Vietnamese, I'm embarrassed that things are like this. If you're a tourist, I recommend travelling to other countries before taking a risk here.

KCOI is a hotspot for student pilots, whether it's you're home airport or you're doing cross-country. It only has one runway (11-29), which makes life so much easier when you're starting out. The final approach for 29 is over the water, which is insanely fun because it's almost makes you feel like you're landing on an aircraft carrier. Sometimes the traffic can be hectic, so keep your scan up, follow the CTAF procedures, and make ALL of your calls. A CFI I know insists on calling it "Scare-itt Island" because of the goofy stuff pilots sometimes do in the pattern, but it's not that bad if you fly safe.
Love This Airport!
I completed my PPL at TIX, and I can honestly say I love flying there! Sure, you have to watch your ps and qs or ATC won't be happy, but you can't beat the view of Kennedy Space Center when you're taking off from Runway 9. The 4 long runways are give so many landing options, especially for student pilots.

Seriously ? This airport serves several NE states and it looks like a second tier airport in Africa where I’ve lived for some years.
No lounge, no fast lane, not even a bar ???

INS Shibpur to start Commercial Service
INS Shibpur to start commercial Service in Dec 2018(till now) when PM Modi visit Andaman Nicobar Islands on 30th December 2018, for which there has been work going on in full swing for the terminal building and extension of runway from 1000 m. This aquisition of and was one of the main hurdle.

Beacon YWA-------
Was listening on a sony old table radio and had modified it with preselective tuning antenna input from a 80 meter inverted Vee at 70feet. I could hear either a modulated tone or a hetrodyne tone and copied the YWA. I looked it up on yahoo and found that it is coming from Petawawa in Canada. Cool. I then hooked up my DX-400 Shortwave digital tuning reciever and went to 515khz. and recieve the message of YWA again. It was a little weak but very easy to copy. I am located in Gladstone, Michigan in the U.P. My call letters are WB8FUW.

Line service was very friendly and helpful. Had to emergency land here due to ice and Approach was a life-saver!

Undeveloped of Jalgaon Airport
Even getting good responses for fight, Shuted down Mumbai-Jalgaon... Was expecting a great response for Jalgaon-Pune but they are not serious, and didn't started the fight... Kolhapur is getting Bangalore flights and we are not getting Surat, Amhedabad, Indore, Bhopal knowing that this route can get a huge response from people's of business and education sectors... Ignorance to Jalgaon continued... Knowing that people from Jalgaon, Dhule, Buldhana,Bhuranpur district's (Population combined more than 10 million) can take service the administration is lazy for it most are unaware .... Hope will wake from sleep of "chalta hai"... and will say "chalaenge"

The best green airfield
Firm gras strip, also when wet. Fuel station with avgas, mogas and Jet A-1. Very good restaurant. Lovely flying area. Perfect field for a jump to or from the UK .

Rather than prohibiting small excersizes , like T & G, I would argue that wize PR towards locals directed from the airfield administrators could benefit both sides of noise argument people more. By inviting those few "too-much-noise"-accusers (and they are few) to one or two rides in a plane could prove beneficial to the whole community in the long run. Simple PR. Yours Jyri V. Is Longwarry Airport still registered or should reference to it be removed?
Obstacles
Watch out for the tall towers just north of the field. I think traffic for RWY 10 is right for this reason. Also if taking RWY 10 note the mature trees/telephone poles right at the end of the RWY. The trees look to be taller than 50' and are maybe 30ft from the end of the runway so plan accordingly.

I would suggest you to request indian aviation minister to make a international Modern Airport for Big Aircraft with full Facilities like Custom, Immigration and other So nobody need not travel to ahemadabad....

It's not as bad as you think
I fly in and out of South Africa about six times a year, usually to Nairobi or Dar es Salaam. Anyone who thinks OR Tambo is a dirty airport, full of rude staff has obviously never been north of the Limpopo to airports like Dar es Salaam, Addis, or Nairobi. I find the customs staff at best, friendly, and (mostly) at worst, disinterested. If you want rude, combative and vulgar customs staff try arriving in America in Atlanta or Miami.
If you've ever travelled by air in the rest of Africa you'll realise OR Tambo is relatively slick, organised and miles, miles better than Dar es Salaam or Nairobi airport. I for one feel happy and proud wherever I return to OR Tambo.

Private airstrip of the "Monte do Pombo". Using Google Earth's historical imagery function we can see the runway seems to have been built somewhere between 2012-2014. Seems to be in good condition.
