I have a bad experience, requesting a wheel chair for my mother, no problem there. Whilst chair is being pushed, the person pushing the chair is constantly asking for money. What ever one gives is not enough. I ended up giving 600 Rupees, and that was still not enough.
Indian airports authorities need to look into this. India is the only place in the world where one gets constantly annoyed.

I used this airport about 9 years and back then I was subject to the usual Indian tradition of being asked for money...so I see nothing has changed - what a shame! I am hoping to use this in the near future, I really do hope I am not disappointed this time.
I think the one person above that did have something good to say must be either related to someone who works there or has been bribed (another well known Indian tradition)

Great day trip for a pie at the Miami Bakehouse next door
Visited this strip for a pie at the Miami bakehouse. Strip is quite rough - fenced on both sides so animals don't get in. Prior permission is required from the owner.

Cessna 172 Territory Airlines. Can't recall the pilots name. A sensational flight ex Goroka, unintended diversion over Ramu River and backtracked slightly west of Mt Wilhelm to locate the 'strip. At the time I believe it was the highest operational airstrip in the world? Re-commenced a three week Agricultural patrol of the Upper Chimbu Valley. On arrival back at Kundiawa flew to Goroka with Bobby Gibbes (former RAAF Wing Commander) of Gibbes Sepik Airways

Casterton 16/34 is red brown and obvious around a mile further West of the green marker on the map; WSW of the Town
Status
Casterton is now a CFA Fire Bombing Base for Western Victoria with extensive facilities for continuous use during the Fire Season
At around 500ft ASL the main runway 16/34 rises significantly near the Northern (terminal) end and is nearly 4000ft of wide well groomed gravel - a very short grass cross strip would suit extreme crosswinds
The CTAF is 126.7 and beware the CFA operations will use other frequencies during a fire.

New Runway
A new tarmac runway [ longer and wider ], is currently under construction as of 30 November 2015. Current Runway being used is grass

Flew in Sept 13-18 2015. Cessna 210 MGTW 1740 Kg.
IFR from Hungary cancelled (due to VFR weather) on arrival when contacting Greek radar. No IFR fee.
Paid the following fees:
Landing 7.50 Euro
Parking 7.50/day
Handling at Swissport with AOPA card 25 Euro
Avgas 2.90/Lt
Passenger departure Tax 12 Euro/passenger
Not sure about a departure tax but I think there was one.
Everything went smoothly and professionally. Would recommend the airport as well the community for a vacation spot. Just pay attention to local time difference if arriving from up north due to the difference in local time.

I disagree with easy to navigate
Every time I get rerouted to some store.
There is a door leading to gates after security check but it is prohibited to use the door unless one has the access card. There are customers on both side of the door but usage of the door is prohibited under penalty and possibly prison sentance. Must get routed through the shop.

Aldinga airport
A mate and I fly in regularly and have rarely had a problem. Sure they have several runways and may be using more than one- just get situational awareness on the way in, stay above the traffic till you decide your approach-and use your radio!
We enjoy the coffee, the view and the friendship and find the operators and their instructors friendly and helpful.
Development of Ubay Airport as "Tourism Gateway" for the nor
Runway is small at 400m maximum. To the northern end of the runway are some housing and the sea. The southern end is at hills. In other words, pie-in-the-sky.
Once white elephant in Panglao is more than enough.
