re: Have been there.

The nearest airport I know with airline service is Loakan Airport (BAG RPUB), about 70 km to the west-southwest, but you might be able to charter a small plane from there the rest of the way in.

Name of the airfield

Name is unspecified.

Have been there.

I lived just off the airport for a year. It is a classic small Philippine airport. Love the people of Bagabag.

Bintulu

I'm a student from SMK Kidurong would like to have a favor to my Malaysia airlines system and Air asia. I just wondering , that Bintulu is oil town. I heard Kuala Lumpur , Kuantan , terengganu and Johor bahru always need direct flight to Bintulu. My opinion is ; I just wondering only that malaysia should make 2 or 3 flight from Kuala lumpur to Bintulu and that is for Malaysia airlines . and air asia too.. My friends always to johor. that said. they always transit to miri to get a fligth to johor and terengganu.kuantan.. is also always go to bintulu for their business or oil industrial. My teacher's too always transit to kuching. Because always full when she goin to KL and Pulau pinang.

Please... help

very min person, 5 person to handle all activities in this airport (admin, ticketing, Ground handlin, load seat manifest, very minimum security( just one persen at night and one person in day). The Airport director has no experience in aviation, he has "deaf mute", wont do anything, just come and leave everyday,

re: status

Right now the Behala Flying Club operates a flight school here, but the government is planning to expand the airport to handle commuter airline flights:

Picture of

status

Only a flying school operates here

Apparently closed

I've marked this air base as closed, since it's clear from the satellite photo that a road has been built through it.

Picture of david

India's only foreign airbase

While this airbase is in Tajikistan, it's operated by the Indian Air Force, and is their only foreign base.

re: Province's name

Thanks for the correction: I see that the previous Khorasan Province split into three parts in 2004, so I'm updating the site to reflect that.

Picture of

Province's name

Sarakhs Airport is located in the Iranian Province of "Razavi Khorasan".

The capital city is "Mashhad"

tell me how's your airport look like

Picture of david

Is this airport closed?

The markings are nearly worn off the pavement, and at least one road or path seems to cross it.

Picture of david

Mainly flight training

This is the home of the Qatar Aeronautical College. Here's a video shot from the cockpit of a Socata TB20 landing at the airport:

Picture of david

Closed?

I've marked this closed for now, based on the state of the pavement, and what seems to be bushes growing through the cracks on the runway. Does anyone know otherwise?

An emotion of a Vietnamese-American at the Tan Son Nhat airp

My nick name is TT, a Vietnamese-American, had come back to Vietnam for the Lunar New Year of 2009 and returned to the USA on Feb 04,2009.

When I checked in my luggages (10 boxes of a group of 5 people), I was informed that mine needed to be double-checked; then was ordered to come into the scanned- room. My friends and I went in and the officer there asked my friends to leave the room and signaled me for money (I thought this practice long gone). To avoid hassle with openning & repackaging those boxes (most of them food) I gave him $300,000VND; he looked at me and said that it's too little compared to my stuffs. I was so angry and ashamed with "my people" but of course I cannot denie his request. After my "payment" was made, every thing was going smoothly. I got out of that room speechless and kept on wondering myself "is that policy applied only to Vietnamese-Americans or to all people who pass by Tan Son Nhat and want to get out of the airport with a peaceful mind?" What an international airport it is! I don't think I will come back for another visit in the near future since I don't want to experience the same thing again. I need time to forget and regain my pride and respect for my people and country. Poor my Vietnamese and Vietnam!

Shamefully,

TT

Main airport Nagorno-Karabakh

Stepanakert is the chief city in the breakaway republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is not currently under effective Azerbaijani government control, though it is still internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan. There are plans to bring in a scheduled flight between this airport and Yerevan, Armenia.

Now used by the Coast Guard

The naval base closed in 2000, and the heliport is now used by the Singapore Coast Guard.

Picture of david

Mainly helicopters

The Wikipedia article mentions only helicopter squadrons based here now, but the satellite photos still show well-maintained runways, so there might be some fixed-wing traffic as well.

Other id?

This airport was "WA1A" in DAFIF.

Picture of david

re: Wrong ID?

I've removed the id, and will probably delete this soon: I generally include helipads at an airport only when they're assigned a separate code (otherwise, they're just POIs).

Picture of ptomblin

Wrong ID?

I think the airport should get the ICAO id WPDL, not this one.

Picture of david

Kuwait's Naval Base

This heliport is part of the Kuwaiti Navy's only significant base, which was also a major staging area for U.S. forces during the invasion of Iraq.

re: Duplicate?

Thanks, Paul -- I've merged them.

Picture of david

Disputed territory

This territory is claimed by Malaysia, China, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Malaysia currently has effective control, with this airport on a man made island, a small naval base, and a diving resort.

Picture of ptomblin

Duplicate?

This appears to be a duplicate of RP10, Shallow Reef Airport, Spratly Islands.

Chiang Kai Shek International Airport SUCKS!

You know what, Chiang Kai Shek International Airport (Taoyuan, Taiwan) SUCKS! I had a stop over flight at Chiang Kai Shek International Airport from Tokyo Japan en route to Manila last November of this year (2008). I found the people in Taiwan's so called International airport unaccommadating, unhelpful to passengers needs. I was lost at the airport then finding my way wondering where should I go next after I disembark the plane from Tokyo. As a transit passenger from Tokyo, I should take another plane en route to Manila. But there was no airport personnel guiding passengers who had just disembark the plane from Tokyo in sight. I found myself discombobulated, disappointed and disgusted. So, I ended up facing a frowning Immigration officer telling me that I got it all wrong.FUCK!

Another thing, Chiang Kai Shek International Airport personnel LOVE to FROWN specially the Taiwanese women at the airport. Their frowning only makes Taiwanese women look UGLIER! HA!
