Calais LFAC

Customs airport with excellent facilities, including a better restaurant than any found on an airfield in the UK ( that I have found), reasonable priced fuel and landing fee, and a friendly welcome..

La Postale

Longtemps cet aéroport a reçu la postale qui le soir partait sur Lyon. Affaire classée, pourtant le temps de rencontrer et de boire un café avec les pilotes. Frédéric BONTEMPS

This airport should move soon to another place

The present airport situated in the South of Nantes is going to move soon to the North of Nantes, between Rennes and Nantes.

It is intended to become the main airport of the West of France.

It is likely that much of the traffic now going through CDG Paris will go through this new airport in a few years.

re: BA128

Thank you. Here's what the Wikipedia article says about LFJL: "It opened to the public on October 28, 1991 and replaced Nancy-Essey and Metz-Frescaty airports."

I'd love to know the locations of the closed airports - we include those in OurAirports, too, with a red "X" icon.

re: frequencies

Merci de votre avis. J'ai changé le fréquence A/D. Qu'est-ce que c'est un "arrivée hub"? J'en ai jamais entendu, mais je ne connais pas bien la términologie française.

IATA-Code

Hi, please correct IATA-Code for Basel. It should be BSL not BAS.

Picture of

frequencies

Good morning,

Dans la page des fréquences attribuées, il semble que l'A/D (approach) soit 136.075 Mhz et que 120.225 correspond au guidage radar lors des arrivées HUB (n'est pas ouvert constamment, seulement lors des arrivées hub).

re: NDB CGO 344 kHz deleted

Thank you for the update. It's always sad when an NDB is decommissioned. I've removed it from the database.

My stay on the airport

Due to the heavy foc over the Seine I had to abort my flight with the Mistral PH-2R8 from Lelystad (EHLE) in the Netherlands to Pont sur Yonne (LFGO) and had to land on La Ferté Gaucher.

I was welcomed very friendly bij people of the local "club ULM" and offered all the help I need (hangerspace, fuel).

There was a nice hotel and restaurant at the airport, so I had a good night sleep and reached my destination the next morning.

Facilities

During 2012 year, we hope to have both re opening of the fuel station (with credit cards, 100LL, JET and 95UL) and the restaurant.

visit

My second solo cross-country flight was LFIH to LFBH. An interesting view taking of over the sea !

Picture of Rudolf

My first pilot experiences were at Chalais LFIH

A rural airport with all kind of friendly pilots. Here I started my pilot's career with my instructor Edmond Fradon. I started on Cessna 150, and flew also their Cessna 172, and Jodel D-112 (built in the club). Everyone is an amateur, no aviation professionals .From Chalais I flew with 3 friends to the north of Holland, Texel Airport. My greatest experience in aviation !

Summer 2010 visit

Bergerac was 'fogged in', this was our alternate. Big field but very quite. Twr spoke English and was very helpful. Landing fee less than 4 Euros. Friendly aero club made a coffee for us!

Summer 2010 visit

Rented acft from Sue Virr from the Aero club de Limoges. http://www.nearlyheaven.com/.

Friendly field, very helpful tower, only the odd delay to account for inbound IFR traffic (Ryanair etc) otherwise a great base for touring.

Summer 2010 visit

Small field on UNICOM 123.50 so French calls here the norm (although we made ours in English). Landing fees are a 'donation' into the piggy bank in the flying club reception. Great little restaurant round the corner (20m) L'Escale Guillaumet.

Summer 2010 visit

Great location, easy nav and comms, arrived from the North (Limoges) and bought in via the published VRPs.

Landing fees less than 4 Euros!! I'm moving to France. Easy access to the apron via the Aeroclub de Bergerac so no faffing with security etc. Good cafe/restaurant, coffee good.

Mandatory Training

A mandatory training procedure was put in place at Cannes ( LFMD). Feb_2010

Please visit the website http://www.cannes.aeroport.fr/index.html and register.

Cannes is very noise sensitive and you might be checked after landing if you have done the briefing!
