Landing at Nuku
I went into Nuku airport in 1969 to visit Ignas Wunum.
May have been a Brittan Norman Islander.
Landing consisted of a turn in front of the hill running at right angles to the strip and then gunning it up hill to land near the terminal.
Got out and threw up.

Do not be daunted by the published runway length of 150 metres - there are longish extensions each way, and the lawn is tended better than any golf course could be. Totally unobstructed approaches, too, but do mind the unavoidable ubiquitous difficult neighbours, as mentioned in the a/d documents. Do consult the website, and mind the PPR.

A very nice place...
We were delighted with our recent visit to Pagosa Springs. The airport is nice and the runway long and wide. There is self-serve fuel and a bathroom in case the FBO is closed.
We stayed at the Sky View Motel, not the fanciest place in town, but were willing to pick us up and drive us around town a bit. They even have complimentary beer and a continental breakfast/snack! SkyViewpagosa.com 970-264-5803.
Pagosa Springs should be on everyone's bucket list. A wonderful little community nestled against the mountains, with great things to do Summer or Winter.
Dropzone in the forest
600 meter landing strip. Very friendly skydiving dropzone. There's a camp site, bunk house, common area with a bar and a small kiosk where you can buy food.

The Porter FBO now charges $50+tax/night for tie-down for a single-engine piston plane; no discount for fuel (unless you buy more than 400 litres / 105 US gallons).
The Trans-Capital ramp at the other (east) end of the airport charges $35/night, but doesn't sell fuel.
Good restaurant
For those visiting, there's a nice restaurant, right on the field - good food, reasonable prices.

Lost tablet- Crown Make
I have forgotten my tablet-crown make near the ODEL showroom on 2nd June. I found that it has been taken by a local works in the departure area as the last to its data sim No 0721197545 has recorded in Palawatta area.
I find it as a great lost because of my lecture notes. I know for very sure that this item will not be useful to anyone as it seems now it is stolen. So, please make sure to return it back if you found it accidentally. Again, it is a great help.

My son whom is in Grade 11 has a school assisgnment which needs to be completed during the upcoming school holidays. The assisgnment is to find work in his envisioned career path and enter the career environment in a "hands on" situation for one week, so that he can gain insight into the realities and demands of the world in work. His dream is to be a pilot when he finishes school.
The employer would not need to renumerate him, but will be required to provide the school with a written report regarding his behaviour and progress.

I am writing this to the Administrators of Bacolod-Silay International Airport, especially to the guard on duty. Please be considerate & courteous and helpful to others, mostly to the people who don't know what to do in a place like this (Airport).
An incident happened today, June 9, 2014 around 12:30 to 2:00pm. My maid was scheduled for flight going to Manila via Cebu Pacific Airline. She arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport at 12:40pm with valid I.D. w/ photo, unfortunately she do not have a print copy of Cebu Pacific Itinerary & Official receipt (since I'm the one who made online booking & payment). She don't know how to use computer neither don't know where is the computer shop. I instructed her to write it in a clean paper the Confirmation no.; Transaction ID, Official Receipt and other details of her flight. When she showed it to the guard on duty at the entrance (airport), the guard told her that he need the computer print-out of the documents, my maid replied that she don't have & don't know how, she ask if she can talk to Cebu Pacific customer service to help her but the guard refused to that. I talked to my maid and ask her to give her phone to the Guard on duty so I can talk to him but he also refused and said "baka naloloko lang daw sya or ako". What is the purpose of this piece of papers when in fact the “Check-in counter” will produce the Original Plane Ticket. What if a Foreigner with the same problem, ano kaya ang gagawin ng Guard on Duty? Please help our kababayan?

I like watching naha airport webcam, but most of the time the cam is on the city which is boring and one cannot see anything except traffic. the aiport webcam is only for an hour or two which is very inconvenient for me, i like to see planes land and take off. Do you have intention of putting webcams at the aiport only covering both terminals.

Stopped here by chance
What a great "quiet" little place. Stayed the night on a long cross country. Two courtesy cars. Stayed at the Lazy B Motel. Clean, cheap and safe. Afton is what I'd like to see more of in America. Less corporations and more unique mom and pop businesses. Good food at the Elkhorn Cafe. The local talk will be kids, cows and horses. Check out the photo of Jesus holding a shotgun. Only in Afton! :) I will return!

Yes, Woodbine is a very nice airport with great runways, but I take offense that the banner pilots are crazy, in fact the banner pilots at very professional and take flying seriously.
Parking Scam
UNBELIEVABLE...is the one word that comes to my mind when i think of parking my car in Chennai airport.I stayed inside the airport for exactly 10 min 35 seconds and i had to pay Rs.135 for those extra 35 SECONDS. Believe it or not, A guy can easily have 2 meals in Chennai with that money. India is not a country like the US or any other developed country for that matter.We are already burdened with taxes, corruption,fuel price hikes and not to mention the ever greedy and obnoxious autowallahs etc. How can we improve our living standards if we get ripped off like this every single day by so many factors. No wonder there is a huge amount of people moving out every year. If India wants to retain its talent and improve its economy, the government needs to know that siphoning off small change through taxes, price hikes etc will only f**k them up in the long run and they cannot afford to piss off the citizens who are the most important resource in the country. People are getting smarter every day and the day is closer where there will be a truly democratic government. Beware u babus, netas, sonia gandhi, modi, karunanidhi, jayalalitha. The INDIAN is aggressively rising to change the way the world looks at India. You can either help him in his endeavors or incur his wrath and get destroyed.

Well said. a great location and welcoming crew. you will not be disappointed if you either drive or fly in here. if you are thinking of tail dragger training, this is the place to go. Probably the best range of tail draggers in Australia. minimal traffic, short hop to the training area, minimal wasted time in the circuit or on the ground. good value for money.
