Inbound immigration
As a international traveler I see many of the worlds immigration services and joburg inbound immigration are by far the worst I have ever seen . Very bad attitude. You are treated like a dog and the queuing system is so inefficient . Most days I'm left feeling disappointed and angry after clearing in to joburg. These officials think they are above the law.

Incoming. July 29, Friday evening. In a rare gesture of thoughtfulness and hospitality, immigration has assigned 3 officers to process a handful of flights. After all, there are only 19 booths for foreigners. How kind! Done and dusted in less than 100 minutes which is exactly how long my flight lasted. Well done!

Security lines packed... only 3 gates operating..... lazy men in blue jackets standing around finding this very amusing..... passengers are running late..... incompetent, useless staff that don't seem to care and have a disgusting attitude.... foreigners find this unbelievable..... unless!!!!!!!.... embarrassing to be a South African....

17:00 - Airport customs for the moment has temporarily stopped using the Biometrics as it is causing some serious delay. But is still a problem.

JHB O.R Tambo customs very, very slow today with long que's taking almost 3 hours for guests to come out at arrivals after collecting luggage.
Reason being because Biometrics is not function ing correctly & creating delays.
Delays sometimes also caused because lack of staff especially early in the mornings when their are only 3 custom officials.

Hello, I am a model airplane builder and I am currently working on a model of a Grumman G-73 Mallard flying boat. The Egyptian Air Force Royal Flight operated two of these in the early 1950's during the King Farouk era and I want to paint my model in the scheme of one of these. I can only find two black and white photographs for these airplanes and so I have questions about the colours. The aircraft in question carried the Grumman serial numbers of J-47 and J-48 and were delivered to Egypt in 1950. I am speculating that the colours were of the Egyptian flag but cannot be certain. If anyone has any insight or perhaps a colour photo I would be most grateful.

It presents that the Lat/Lon for DRZI is recorded incorrectly on a good number of databases out there on the web. The actual airfield presents to be ~2.7nm East (@ ~92 degrees) from the indicated position.

Gate A12/13 23/6/16 @ 17:30 sitting waiting for my husband to return with some pain killers as I am very weak with good poisoning & get told to go out of the gate to have passport checked. Explained I was alone & couldn't carry the bags alone so was told when my husband comes back the passports can be checked. 2 mins later a guy comes over & says exactly the same thing. I tried to explain but he was rude, obnoxious & continually over talked me. He threatened to have me removed & told me I could easily carry the bags myself. After 5 minutes of his constant rudeness & talking at me he told me to leave the bags where they were & walk 50 feet to have my passport checked - which he could easily have done himself. What a horrible rude unpleasant member of your staff. He is a disgrace to your organisation.

We were at Tunis airport on Thursday, June 16th. We went to use the lounge for Priority Pass members just past duty free for departures. Even after showing my pass and being asked for my boarding cards we were told that this was now business class only. Instead we were to go back to the AVS Lounge. This was about 05.55a.m. and when we got there the doors were locked and no sign of life. Walking back thinking we would have to get some coffee at one of the bars there, luckily we ran across a kindly member of staff who told us that the AVS lounge does not open until 06.00a.m. Sure enough by the time we had returned it was being unlocked. Inside all there was were some food left over from the previous day and some bottles of water. Again luck was with us as two locals who fly to London were talking to the chap who had unlocked. They then told us that they had told him that they were not handing over their cards until they had seen some fresh food and some coffee. About 06.30a.m. some croissants and paninis appeared, followed ten minutes later by some coffee. So much for 24 hour service! When I got back home I sent off an email explaining what our experience had been like. To-day I got a phone call from a lady who said we should have used the other lounge, and that AVS was not a part of their lounges. Strange how people who are not experiencing what you have just gone through seem to know more about what we should be getting. Be warned that when going through security check it is now belt, shoes and jackets off. As you come out the other side look ahead and to your left. There you will see glass doors clearly marked up AVS." To the left of the doors is a stand clearly marked up with who can use that lounge. Don't be surprised when you read "Priority Pass" as one of the groups entitled to make use of it. Due to return in September, will make sure that I have a camera ready so that I can send a jpeg off to Priority Pass. Unless of course some one else does it before me.

It's a typical West African airport. Lots of people trying to sell you stuff when you stwo outside, but no harm there. I was 20 seconds through the main security line (there's also a quick check on entry). There's a snack bar in the departure area, but also a regular frequent-flyer lounge, and a separate one with paid access (€8 or CFA 5000). WiFi is in and out, but then, it's free.

my father had a stroke so i went to see him, when i was returning i bought just about 10 dashiki dresses and 2 purses, they stole half of everything ! even my jewelry
my bag weighted 17 kg when leaving, once i landed in Amsterdam and had to check the bag in again it weighed only 11 kg
Dear Ghanaian baggage handlers, please understand that what you did was very very wrong and thanks to you, your economy will be spoiled because good people like me will not come and spend their money only to have their goods stolen !! shame on you and shame on kotoka airport for not having any cameras knowing full well that they employ thieves !
I will be reporting this to the highest of authorities ! i have now installed a spy CAM in my luggage and will ensure whomever does this again is prosecuted to the fullest. Shame !

Our boarding has been delayed by over 20 minites. Sa1017 to bloemfontein at gate e8.
NO ONE knows whats going on,no one can tell us when we will be boarding - theres a foreign guy here that said he does not respect the way the staff spoke to him and that took 10 people to sort out.

HARD DRIVE STOLEN OUT OF CHECK IN LUGGAGE
I am disgusted by the fact that my property was stolen right out of my locked luggage. I flew on the 02/05/16 from Johannesburg to Cape town on mango flight JE123 at 5:55 this morning. After landing and checking my luggage i found that my lock had been removed and my hard drive taken from the bag. To say that this is the worst experience i have had , is an understatement. I feel that as a passenger my right to a safe flight and to not have any items stolen from checked in luggage has been violated. For goodness sake my bag was locked and the lock was removed by one of your personal , is this what we as passengers can expect from your airports staff!!!! i am disgusted and request that this situation be rectified immediately or i will be taking this further.

Small strip for charters, no regular commercial service. Locals will sell you food and drink just off the property and I met my future wife here.

Good international airport to access the best Botswana game preserves and wetlands. Lots of charters fly out every day, strip is well maintained and tower control is impressive as clouds and mist can roll in dawn and dusk but doesn't seem to matter as long as the pilots have the cohones to do so :)

It has international standard runway markings and pretty real-looking hangars. Why would you think it's not a "true airport"? Not every airport has commercial traffic.

Further to the comment placed on these pages on 29.09.2010 that the ex raf airstrip at Wadi Seidna was infact 10nm to the west of the current airbase - has this been confirmed as true ? This is rather confusing - was this airfield moved completely or is this a wrong statement ? barry.
