BognorRegis My home town.
I always wondered why I was born in Bognor Regis, now it makes sense to me. My parents were Lived in London until just after the war (my mother born in London and my Father born near his ancestral home of Ely, but grew up in West Ham). My Father was a Fighter pilot during the Second world War and in 1945 his was with 83 G.S.U. training on Typhoon fighters to go to the far east for the fight against the Japanese. At this time 83 G.S.U. was stationed at Bognor then Westhampnet (Goodwood today). So this would explain where My parents got the notion to move to Bognor Regis. My father had spent time there and knew what it was like.

Hi,
This location would be perfect for international flights. This region could use this to improve local businesses and local comunities. To visit this region you can go either to Gdansk or Warsaw then drive 175kms on not so good roads. When you arrive at Olsztyn you notice the city is growing at a fast rate so commute is already an issue. No motorways nearby, thats why i believe this airport could be a good opportunity for all mazury region.

French Air Force base
Not open for public use. This base is the home of the French 'fighter pilot' school. Other nations (including Belgium) are training there on the A-jet aircraft. Can be pretty busy and expect student pilots in solo flying around.
Very nice airport
Friendly and nice attendants and load personel.
Technical landing for two-seater <1 TON MTOW is less than 12 EUR.
Highly recommended airport.
Diferent prices
This year prices are higher.
Same plane (less than 1 TON MTOW, two seater) landing and handling for 3 days was 65 EUR.
Also TAXI wanted 37 EUR. Rent-a-car price is 50EUR/day

The runway is bumpy.
The place is nice. The beach is 300m away. Also there is 5 min walk to town.

The staff is very friendly and the location is nice. Highly recommended to visit.

Landing And Service
We landed in Mai 2013, with PPR from Giorgio Cattaneo, the Owner. All Info from AvioPortolano. The Runway was much wider than 20 m and a good 840 m And more to pass over the trees on both sides. Parking for 5 days was safe and cheap. Giorgio drove us to Cefalu in his car. Camping possible, however no sanitary installations.
It's two helipads
There are actually *two* helipads in the LKH clinic. One is located on top of the surgical ward (the highest building of the clinic, located on the western edge of the area), the other one is near the pediatric (on the northeastern corner of the clinic). Both are clearly visible on Googlemaps.
Airfield first impression
First time in Pons Avy...After being careful to avoid the Cognac Air Force Base areas all around, max alt 1500 ft QNH and 3000 ft around Cognac CTR when Combat areas activated, we achieve our trip to Pons. Beautiful site, middle of fields and vineyards. Runway with downslope (31), but long enough, with a little hill north of the airfield that gives to the situation a great sighting. Calm and peaceful, sympathetic guys in local airclub. Great experience.

Open space
I visited the park on the old airport site today. I'm sad that it closed, but it's still worth a visit: people use the runways for cycling, jogging, rollerblading, and kite-surfing, and for a pilot (or aviation fan), it's interesting being able to walk up to the hold-short line for 27R, then on along the runway.
Ground transportation
I landed at Tegel this week, so clearly it's still open, despite the comment I left 7 1/2 years ago. As the Wikipedia article mentions, walking distances are extremely short β in less than 5 minutes, I was off the plane and in a cab.
A taxi to my hotel near the Heinrich-Heine StraΓe U-Bahn station was β¬35, which is a bit pricey. I have since discovered that there is an express bus "TXL" that takes 41 minutes from Alexanderplatz to Tegel (or vice versa). Texel 2014
I visited in July 2014. Very friendly airport run by father and son team Ed and Mike. Landing fee and parking for three nights came to Euro 67.
New Runway
The actual runway is 09/27, 2500m.
The old runway 04/22 is not in use anymore.
delayed flight
my daughter and three others were due to fly back to Ireland/Dublin last nite landing in Dublin airport for 23.00 irish time but in t middle of flight tom 1239 take off on runway t plane broke dead on the runway due to plane manfuntion all passengers were taken off flight tom 1239 and taken back to terminal in which were left there for quite awhile before taken them then onto a hotel accommodation for the night now this morning they were to be collected by bus at 10.00 greek time when all ready and waiting to be informed that the bus would not be arriving till 12.30 greek time.Im afraid to say but this Is not good enough when 4 persons were to return to work today theses 4 passengers Marguerite Dowling,Martin o Connor, Ally o Connor, Niamh Mc Kenna are out of pocket and running low in money in which they still have to spend reason been they were given a breakfast that would not in their eyes fit for a dog. Good place to go
Very fine restaurant on site "De Kei". Intense glider activity including winch launching, overhead joins are a NO NO.
Short runway?
Do not be daunted by the published runway length of 150 metres - there are longish extensions each way, and the lawn is tended better than any golf course could be. Totally unobstructed approaches, too, but do mind the unavoidable ubiquitous difficult neighbours, as mentioned in the a/d documents. Do consult the website, and mind the PPR.
Dropzone in the forest
600 meter landing strip. Very friendly skydiving dropzone. There's a camp site, bunk house, common area with a bar and a small kiosk where you can buy food.

There is no airport here
Be advised - satellite imagery from here.com, google.com and terraserver only show farmland at this location. No airport is in the immediate vicinity, no runway is apparent in the vicinity. Caution is advised.
