re: Frequency

Thanks for the information -- I've entered it in the "Pilot Info" tab.

Picture of

Frequency

THere is a local frequency for this airport 122,40. The runway is 17/34. It is 1.800m long. Although you can use all of it, officialy both threshold are displaced but you still have 800m.

new airport in Beja Portugal

Was this just a ploy to get as many people as possible to buy into the area? Seems like the old saying goes..............amanha. Does anyone have the slightest idea when,if ever, this airport will open. Jane

Viared Airfield

Viared is open all year, but for a few days, mostly holidays. Check out local info on this site: http://www.borasflygplats.se/

After take-off RWY 22, and when you are stabilized in climb, make a slight left turn to a southerly heading to avoid complaints from nearby neighbors.

Noise Abatement Procedure

The Airport is located in a very noise sensitive area and a noise and track monitoring system is in use. Pilots are advised to strictly

follow the published Noise Abatement Procedures, unless otherwise instructed by ATC.

Unfortunately there are a lot of violation reports.

Picture of Chally

Mandatory Training

A mandatory training procedure was put in place at Cannes ( LFMD). Feb_2010

Please visit the website http://www.cannes.aeroport.fr/index.html and register.

Cannes is very noise sensitive and you might be checked after landing if you have done the briefing!

Picture of

Note

Fuel is only available if paid in cash or in advance

First 300m of runway 25 are not usable because of runway condition

Picture of

Emergency Only

Old Soviet airfield used for rusupplying the garrison stationed here until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The island is uninhabited!

The Runway is probably no good but for information:

Rwy 50/23 - Concrete - 1180m

Rwy 12/30 - Overgrown Concrete - 1470m

Picture of

I'd not try landing here!

Now a comms station

re: Bedford Castle Mill - gone

The satellite picture corroborates what you said, so I'm marking it closed.

Bedford Castle Mill - gone

This was a lovely aerodrome - now no longer; it has been developed as a gravel pit.

AVGAS 100 LL

No 100 LL served anymore. Surprising decision to exclude all pistons engines. No Notam mentioned it on international basis, just internal Italian information. Now in Sardinia, only Cagliari is serving 100 LL at crazy price of 3,02 Euros/liters ! !!!!!

Picture of

beja airport

how can it take so many years to move on something with so much support from so many people in an otherwise forgotten part of Portugal?????

Picture of

Great Place

Super airport, great attitude to GA flights, only problem is only one internal flight per day?????

re: Potential disaster

I landed there last week, you have got to be kidding(jets) more like crop dusters.

ignore the TAXI number in the pilot planning facility and use

TAXIS ABEILLE service 01 39 50 50 00. This worked ok in April 2010 and cost about 18euro into Versailles

re: beja airport

The thing about Ryanair is that they won't mind that it is a fair distance from the Algarve as long as landing fees are cheaper (they specialise in finding airports near (but not quite in) resorts so that they can offer cheap flights). Not so good for people who face an hour and a half's drive to the Algarve once they arrive in Beja but great for those of us who want to go just down the road.

Can anyone give me a adress to go there by car? touzimAirport?

Perfect place to stop, stay and refuel

Ibiza is great to fly to. Perfect prices for staying landing and refuelling. All of spain, but Allicante Vallencia and worse of them all LEAB, is very decent with landing fees. around 10 euro's

Picture of pimderhoodes

perfect in the middle

perfect in the middle, stop for helicopters or plains, of France. Great people friendly and you can eat at the Mc Donalds 10 minutes walk.

Good landingfee 14 i'll guess and normal fuel prices.

Picture of pimderhoodes

refuelling and staying over

Campanile hotel 10 minutes away for sleeping and very nice food. The airport is not always open so call first. Nice people good prices like 14 for landing and normal fuelprices. Custom is kind of keen on N tailnumbers.

Picture of pimderhoodes

Perfect place to stop, stay and refuel

A skydiving attitude, great and helpful people, relax refuel stay what ever you want. Landing fee like around 10 euro's and a perfect place.

Picture of pimderhoodes

great service, great people

So going on a helicopter through spain you need to stop there. Valencia and Alicante you would want to pass because you need an handeling-agent which normally cost like 250 - 360 euro's extra.

Nearby barcelona so perfect to stop refuel and take a coffee.

Picture of pimderhoodes

don't go there !!

i really was chocked about the communication. Although English is THE required languages for everything to do with flying.

I have phoned twice, about the time to come for refueling, twice they said to be there from 1500 to 1700 lcl time. In the NOTAM there is a VFR window of 0800 to 14.00 the guys on the phone both said "NO between 1500 and 1700".

now i did send a mail 12hrs upfront, but the reply came 2 hours before i left at 1200lcl which i didn't check because i already checked out of the hotel and i did phone twice. Nobody told me this on the phone.!!

Then if got confronted, after refueling with scandalous prices of 4.16 a liter. like 2.16 per liter plus outside hours refueling 'bonus' of 326 euro's

Billund

Billund is the main regional airport for the region of Jylland in Denmark, with connections to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Poland, France, UK, Austria, Estland, Letland, The Faroes, Iceland as well as a host of charter destinations.. Apart from being a vital service for the communities in the region, it and the region has several other interesting attractions, number one probably being LEGO, the famous buidling block. The airport was actually started by the Lego-family and business, in order to facilitate expansion and development of the building block. Lego is still the main employer in the relatively small community, but which has a rather large regional reach. The first LEGOLAND is situated just south of the runway and so is one of Europes largest aqualands, waterfun-for-the-whole-family type of recreational facilty. A few miles from the airport you'll find Givskud Zoo, a major excotic animal park, much known for its extensive research in animal behaviour and endangered species preservation.

Norwegian Air Museum

BodΓΈ is the main commercial airport and main NATO-base in the Arctic region of Norway. It is also the home base for one of the worlds oldest airlines (and the most punctual in Europe), established in 1934. It operates nearly 350 singel flight per 22 hours, year around.

BodΓΈ is also the home of Norsk Luftfartsmuseum (http://www.luftfart.museum.no/), the museal authority on aviation in Norway.

BodΓΈ is the regional center for an area the size of Denmark and has a lot of tourist activity to offer. One very popular attraction is the maelstrom "Saltstraumen", situated a few miles outside the city. Saltstraumen was depicted by Jules Verne in one of his books, as being the strongest in the world.

BOO is home base for search and rescue helicopter, De Havilland DHC-6/300 Twin Otter light transport squadrons and F-16 squadrons.

Grass strip

My conversion script didn't like the fact that you don't have a designation for the grass strip but it looks parallel to the asphalt strip so I named it "13G/31G".
