Severely damaged during the war in Donbas in 2014. Permanently closed in the same year. A project for a new airport has been unveiled by the Russian authorities and is expected to be completed by 2028.

This airport was scheduled to be open in Summer 2025, but it got delayed. Chair Airlines announced that flights from Zurich will start in June 2026.
