re: Closed?
The pavement looks rough but intact, and although the markings have worn off, nothing's been built on or close to the runway. Is there any way to confirm the airport's status?
ICAO code conflict
Unless this code exist in official ICAO database I think it should be changed to URRA. The Russian code is Π£Π Π Π―, which would translate to URRYA.
Reason for this is that Zavetnoe about 100 miles SE has Π£Π Π Π« which translates directly to URRY.

This airfield appears to have been abandoned
A field with lots of character
This is a former RAF base from world war II which is the only one still using the original buildings. The FBO, Far North Aviation, is in the original tower. You feel very much into "Battle of Britain" here. Great service, very friendly, no hassles with the paperwork. A very nice place to land after or before crossing the pond. The approach is a LOC DME and the weather can be low, but even though it's called the Highlands there is nothing solid to hit near the airport. The local scotch (Old Pulteney) is excellent, as is the beer (the Real Mackay).
Right downtown!
This airport is much more convenient than BIKF for GA. It's right in the middle of town. If you stay at the Loftleidir hotel, 10 meters from the FBO, you can see your aircraft from your window, although we stayed at the Hotel Holt in the center, which is very nice.
Handling and fuel is expensive, but not unreasonable.
re: Closed?
I don't know enough about drag racing to know what to look for in the satellite pic. Certainly, I don't see proper runway markings.
Closed?
Based on Google Earth image this airport appear to be used for drag racing now.

Excellent small airfield
Has at east 330 flyable days in the year.
The "only" reason the airfield may be closed is for strong NE gusting wind Bora.
Use low and powered approach path to Rwy 13 in this case; abort landing soon and divert to the right ASAP in such case (rotor at the and of Rwy13).
Take-off on Rwy31 even if the wind comes a bit tail; there are strong rotors at the end of Rwy13 creating gusting downwash and a lot of turbulence.
Lovozero
Now civil airport for small planes and helicopters.
Former airfield
This was once RAF Andover, and the remnants of the a runway are still visible in the satellite photo if you zoom out a bit. In 2008 there were plans to redevelop the site as a major Tesco warehouse.

Mooney Landing 04/10/08
Fly into Husum-Schwesing to see my brother at his birthday with my Mooney 252, N228RM. Very friendly airport staff serving us coffee.
I can really recommend this airport!

History
During World War II, this was RAF Westhampnett. Two fighter squadrons (145 and 602) were based here during the Battle of Britain. Later in the war, the USAAF also used the field. It became a civilian airfield after the war.
Since the late 1940s, a motor racing track, the "Goodwin Circuit", has run around the airport perimeter.
Reopened
The airfield reopened for light airplanes.

Film lot
Leavesden, which hosted an important military Rolls-Royce factory during World War II, was taken over as a film lot in the 1990s:
A charming liitle airport
A very charming little airport with a friendly restaurant where in summer you can have lunch and dinner. No landing fee! Do land on the grass strip right next to the hard-surfaced runway with potholes which hasn't been used since World War II.
A taxi takes you to close-by St Valery for EU 10,00. Well worth a visit!
Life of the airfield
The airfield was established in 1910, closed in 1963.
Closed
Rzhevka is closed since 2006 year.
Potential
I think this airport has potential if it can expand its runways to handle corporate jets. I'll visit one day...soon.
Formerly RAF GΓΌtersloh
This airstrip was formerly RAF GΓΌtersloh. The British Army took it over after the RAF's withdrawl, and now uses it as a helicopter and signals base.
Security/Robbery
Please don't leave any valuables in the bungalows/tents, even if you are just out for dinner or swimming at the pool.
Concord crash site
On 25 July 2000, Air France flight 4590, a Concord, had just taken off from nearby Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (CDG) with its fuel tank on fire. It attempted to divert to Le Bourget, but was not able to make it, and crashed into a hotel short of Le Bourget.
Need heliport location
Borgo Maggiore has an international heliport, but I have not been able to find an identifier or location for it. Right now, this airport is pointing to the main traffic circle in the centre of Borgo Maggiore, which almost certainly is *not* a heliport.
Please help if you know or can find the location.
nice airport
Nice place. been skydiving there.
Scars
This is obviously an old photo (pre 17Jan) as you can clearly see the scars left by the undercarriage and engines of the BA38 on the grass area. It shows as a very bright green set of 'tracks'. Could google send their satellite over LHR again soon to see them please?

June 2009 Visit - Oxford (Kidlington Airport)
Popped in using free landing voucher (Pilot Magazine). Very well equipped IFR airfield - ILS/NDB, 1552m of runway and a very smart GA terminal. Small Costa Coffee bar and another restaurant within the Oxford pilot training school. Helpful operations staff and reception who got us a taxi and gave us a guide to the city.
Normal fees for a light piston (under 2.73 tonnes) is only Β£15+VAT weekdays or Β£10 including VAT at weekends, or free if you uplift 45 litres of Avgas.
Service - 5/5, Food - 3/5, Facilities - 5/5, Runway and Nav Aids - 4/5 (no radar other than BZN), Costs - 4/5
One of the better airports in the UK

re: Akureryi
Reply to @Tanya: Sure as hell beats the domestic airport at Reykjavik! Loved Akureyri!
re: Rochefort ???
Thanks - that must have been in the original data source. I've corrected it, based on the French Wikipedia article.
Rochefort ???
Err. No. Nowhere near Rochefort, which is in the South of France, typo there methinks.

Sheffield Flying Club
EGNF is an active airstrip undertaking flying instruction, aircraft maintenance as well as general aviation. It has a CAA license, allowing flights for public transport of passengers as well as instruction. The flying Club opened in 1935 and is the oldest in South Yorkshire.
Peel Airports
Another one of their acquisitions. They tried closing it...like Sheffield (SCA). This time their local Council refused!
