Usable paved airstrip
Beware of a few things:
* There's a road crossing the strip, better call beforehand so that they close the road for your landing
* There's a tree hard to see tree (no leafs) right in your way when you come from North.
* The pavement has a little bump where the road crosses
* The pavement has some growing bushes but not a big deal

Came by Boat, got lifted up by a winch, but spent a sunny afternoon sitting on the Helipad exchanging travel stories to the more unsual spots. Really enjoyed 'Room Tour'.

GAP is an aeromodeling (R/C) field located just to the SE of the larger general aviation airport. Note that it is far shorter than the listed 1969'.

Just a minor info concerning the information received by clicking the relevant symbol in the world map for the a.m. location. Not only is it miswritten > Pithorgarh < but more important it is not located in the State of Uttar Pradesh, but in the State of Uttarakhand. Correction shoudn't be a great deal, should it ?

TXL saw its last flight on 8 November 2020 after all traffic had been transferred gradually to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport until this date. It has been legally decommissioned as an airfield after a mandatory transitional period on 4 May 2021. All government flights were also relocated to the new airport with the exception of helicopter operations which will stay at a separate area on the northern side of Tegel Airport until 2029.

RAF Binbrook as an airfield is in a sorry state.runways and taxyways gone and the site is a haulage yard. Lightning F6 XR724 is looking sad and unloved despite flying home to Binbrook in 1992 after Warton finished using it as a chase aircraft for radar tests. it was hoped it would remain flying on the airshow circuit if the C.A.A. would allow. which they didn't. after runways and taxyways were ripped up and disputes with the new land owners, XR724 sits stranded,needing massive amounts of engineering,time and love to see it hopefully join Bruntingthorpe's 2 fast taxying Lightnings.

Most countries in the world do not recognise Russia's annexation of Crimea. Until/unless that changes, we will continue to list this airport is in an occupied region of Ukraine. Please do not edit to change that — repeated efforts to change it will result in account suspension.
Closed since 1977.
Microsoft Flight Simulator lists this, hilariously, as "USEU Severo-Kurilsk". Okeanskoye has been closed and unusable since at least the 1970s.
re: Crimea
Hi Bill35! In the current iteration of the database: neither Crimea nor Sevastopol are selectable as independent entities or as subdivisions of Russia, only as subdivisions of Ukraine. The United Nations continues to consider Crimea and Sevastopol as Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia. There are instances where OurAirports diverges from strict UN interpretation (ie. Taiwan, Kosovo) and note that the islands of the southern Kuril chain are reckoned as strictly Russian and not Japanese (mirroring decades of de facto control), but for the most part, I believe this site adheres to UN and IATA policy.

If he decides to add Crimea and Sevastopol as subdivisions of the Russian Republic, then that's up to him.
Please stop moving this airport to Russia.
Unless and until the UN recognizes the occupation of the Crimean Peninsula by Russia, we should continue to list all airports in Crimea as being in Ukraine. There is no subdivision for Crimea or Sebastopol under the Russia heading. This is not the time or place for nationalistic sentiment -- this is simply abiding by the good-faith standards of database maintenance.

Remove old ESKS (strängnäs AB) as it is interfering with some programs using this database. Also this airport now has airliner service after a big expansion, ref wikipedia.
