according to cag report almost all the midc's in amravati dsitrict are not developed by maharastra government those lands are acquired are just barren lands without any industries, so the need of developeing industries and cosntructing a operational domestic airport in amravati is the need of the hour and the report also mention that due to lack of water industries are not ready to come to amravati sez. so what the hell is government of maharastra doing.

Complain about Fighter Jets Overheads

I'm a resident of The Centris & have moved in for 3 years now. After the kite flying activity was stopped, the jets are flying lower.

Initially, the fighter jets were flying much higher in altitude but nowadays they are screaming over my Penthouse unit in Block 75.

Wowwww....How this airport has changed from my wonderful memories of it flying the RAF's AVRO Shackleton aircraft out of there from 1957 to 1960.......and the RAF's Handley Page MK4 (VIP) aircraft (the private aircraft of the British Commander-in-Chief Far East - Adm Sir David LUCE) from 1961 to 1964. THREE parallel runways now no less. What a wonderful airport now INDEED. Think the Control Tower is located just about where we used to take our young children swimming on 'Changi Beach'? Visited the other day

Was a Friday. VFR and gorgeous day. Saw about 8 airplanes tied down. None of them looked like they were airworthy except a cub well maintained. Many had flat tires. The "FBO" was open but deserted. Some bottled water and an old broken microwave. No plumbing/running water. The hanger was locked but I could see inside there were some planes in there. In the one hour i was there, not a soul came by, drove by, or landed. My dog and I sat on the picnic bench and had some lunch. I was dreaming about turning this place into something that people could enjoy. Maybe a small greasy spoon eatery. Or give "Cub" rides on Sundays for $5 like the 30s. I hate to see small grassroots airports wither away, but such is General Aviation really. Not enough people interested to pass the torch.... Anwyay, hung out with hope, but finally departed to visit another lonely airport a few miles away - Newton. Even more deserted.

Corman Air Park

Corman Air Park is a small privately owned and operated aerodrome near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is open to the general public and is suitable for light aircraft of up to about 6 seats (2600 ft. runway).

Pilots are encouraged to fly here and the general public to fly in, drive in, cycle in, walk in...... are all encouraged to come out and find out what REAL aviation is all about.

Every year the Air Park is host to It's annual Fly N' Fair. It is really a "50 year past" event and is very reminiscent of what a real country fair was back then. It's a lot of very relaxing fun for everyone that attends.

It runs every year from June 30 to July 1 with a free and very spectacular fireworks display at dusk on June 30.

There is no admission charge but the Canadian Air Cadets are in charge of parking and they charge $5/car.

Reply to @david: Rochester briefly flirted with forcing the GA traffic to taxi to the commercial side for customs, but after several "incidents" in the first week, went back to meeting GA on the GA side.

Reply to @david: That surprises me because Alexandria Bay is a tiny airport compared to Watertown. It's also PPR, and not listed as an AOE by the FAA. I think that listing may be for boats. The FAA still lists KART as an AOE, and like most small airports you have to call the nearest customs office 2 hours ahead of time.

Reply to @ptomblin: 8 gallons usable (10 total) in a Warrior is almost double the minimum day VFR reserve even at 75% power and ROP. Personally, I normally land at TEB with about 26 gal usable (28 total), but that's because I'm flying alone and take off from Ottawa with full tanks. When I fly to NYC with my whole family this summer, I'm going to have to keep the tanks a lot lower for W&B, and I can see touching down in TEB with only 10-12 gal usable if it's good VFR. IFR or night VFR is a different story, of course, as is flight over mostly-uninhabited terrain like Northern Quebec -- I like to land with 2 hours in the tanks in those situations.

As you know from your Archer time, another advantage of the Cherokee line is that there's no "both" fuel switch. My rule (which, fortunately, I've never had to invoke) is that if I ever do unexpectedly run one tank dry, I will treat it as an emergency -- something went wrong with my fuel system or my calculations -- and I will use the other tank only to make a precautionary landing at the nearest airport (or on a road or field if there's no airport within 15 minutes). A Cessna's "both" position doesn't give you that kind of warning: when you're dry, you're dry.

I experienced the same just this morning. I felt like they delayed us intentionally because they even lost my boarding pass while waiting to be interviewed for which we do not know why, hence, the delay. Finally he came back to give me the form to be filled up and he said he got a new boarding pass for me ( like I have to thank him for that, duh..! ) . I told that same officer twice that we are going to be late on our flight but he just said wait for your turn " pakihintay lang po,kayo na ang susunod ". They didn't care at all. We patiently waited for our turn. E nauna pa kame s ibang na-intrvw na. They don't have a system. They only have one interviewer, who asks the same question over and over. And nung malaman nila na naiwan kame, wala silang pakialam.

And also be careful when paying Travel Tax, there was one personnel who came up to us and assisted us in paying our travel tax. He asked us to pay exact amount. I did not suspect anything, even if he told me that while waiting, one of us can go and pay the terminal fee already, and so I went and left my sis and my friend. After which, I asked my sis and my friend for the receipt, but they said he didn't issue a receipt. I got suspicious when they asked us to refund the fees as a result of not boarding the plane. The man who took our travel tax fee gave us the refund without going back to the queu or filling up a form. He just handed over the money and said " oh eto na ung pera , para di na kyo pumila ". That is why he didn't issue a receipt coz he planned on keeping the money to himself. Obviously, a corrupt employee.. tsk.tsk.tsk.

I think amravati airport may take another 1 to 2 years to complete and ready for operations as the government is still in the 2nd phase of land acquisition, if the government starts work on the developement of airport along with the 2nd phase of land acqisition then it can be completed within or around a years time. we want to see amravati airport operational before the end of this year i.e 2012.thanks.

Reply to @david: Jet Aviation charges a ramp fee, for a single-engine Piper, $170 which can be waived if you purchase 40 gallons of 100LL (today's price was $9.34/gallon). So glad somebody else pays for my fuel!

It's the people

What a reception. We visited twice in 2011. Once with 5 other CTSWs and later alone. Each time the welcome was exceptional. This included

1. The controller staying late because we were delayed by adverse winds

2. Genevieve - wonderful lady - not only helping us tie down, but running us to our hotel and picking us up in the morning!

3. The parachute club driving us to the local supermarket for petrol as the airfield had run out of AVGAS

We really do like this place!
