Thank god it closed
Good thing that old airport closed. It was too small, difficult approach, and short runway. It couldn't be expanded because of building surrounding the airport. So it was replaced by the new airport in 2004 and is following a similar fate as Kai Tak Airport, to be redeveloped into something else. And have any pictures of the passenger terminal and facilities?

Accommodations
Great FBO. Had a courtesy car for us and found us a room when none were available. However, I would not stop there for anything but fuel in the future.

Coordinates are 43.735 -80.447 (you can set them in google maps or your GPS). Flying, it is just NW from the town of Fergus, following Beatty Line across the river. Note that there is another, unrelated airstrip NE from Fergus - closer to the Belwood lake - and a couple of others, also unrelated fields just SE of the lake!
The only other information I have is that CPG7 "Fergus - Juergensen Field" (the airstrip we are talking about) is a home of the Chinook ultralights community (liftoffaviation.com) Hope that helps...

Landed here to look at a Cessna 150. Nice clean airport. No courtesy car, not much for dining. Frequent skydiving. Great pilot lounge.

great airport and very beautiful
a very beautiful airport with green scenery of the "airport in the jungle" concept. clear announcement made with local dialects, english, mandarin tamil and arabic.
small international airport
clean, nice and great hospitality from people there. can find few fastfood restaurant kfc, mcd etc and dont forget to buy some local souvenir which is very unique and authentic.

Next to A65 and the Adour river, easy to find. Long surfaced RWY.
Runsways
The runsways at Hucknall airfield are all grass .

Maybe you ignored and drove past the three signs telling you to park in the parking lot and not drive on the ramp? If so it shows your character to be that of, "I ignore rules and can do whatever I want", meaning they probably wouldn't want types like you there in the first place!
Not Finished!
As of January 24, 2012 the airport - new airport facilities - has just begun. A drive by scheduled in the next few days will confirm if the tunnel for the road traffic has been started. Noise or not this airport will be a benifit for everyone! Hell maybe even my Mom can convince my stuck in the mud father to get on the plane for a visit now that the drive will be shortened to 35mins to Penonome!
Runway Condition
I went & inspected the East-West runway by foot to see if it was suitable to land there on my next visit. The runway is clay/dirt, 1.5 car width, narrow, with a slight undulation along it. There are rocks that protrude from the surface, but nothing that a standard or heavy duty aircraft wheel would not be able to handle. You could only turn around at the runway thresholds.
There are no services out there. An unlocked gate to get to the airfield, but then another gate is locked at access to hangar and tarmac parking. It may be a private airport now, but best to phone the Castlemaine Council. It would actually be a great airfield if runway condition better.
I did not get to observe the North-South runway, but as I drove away, it did not look like it was operational, as of Dec. 2011.
cancelled flights
On Jan. 23, 2012, the 3:20pm flight to Toronto was cancelled. A passenger was given another flight at the same time on the next day. He was not given transportation from and back to the airport, a hotel room, or meals. I'm very disappointed in Air Canada.
Not an airport
This is not an airport. The only aeronautical around here is the Naval Museum, some 500 meter to the south, which also has a couple of aircraft on display.

Runway in good condition, very pleasant airport manager, easy access to town, nice athletic club (tennis courts, soccer fields, pools, and sauna) adjacent to airport.

I am also facing the same issue with my wife. They are asking for a Filipino who is a resident of Malaysia to raise a invitation letter. Frankly, i do not know anyone in such capacity moreover no strange would stick their head to guarantee another stranger. This procedure is so full of shit! The Phil embassy in malaysia have no right to stop a Malaysian in his own country to invite his wife to his homeland. For GOD sake, this is my dam country!!!!
