Autorotations
Once upon a time this is where helicopters from nearby CFB Gagetown practised touchdown autorotations. We used grass/packed snow areas alongside the runways. Is this still what folks do, or do you still use the "new" autorotation area at the Gagetown heliport?
Deer Lake
A gaggle of CH-135s and one or two CH-136s camped near here in autumn 1974 and flew into the airport often, but much flying to the west over magnificent terrain. Very wet month!
Chipmunk 035
I don't know whether it is still there, but Chipmunk #035 was once in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum collection. It was the first aircraft I flew, and the one in which I flew my first solo. And it still looked to be in pretty good shape when I saw it there decades later, all shiny with the faint scent of nervous pilot sweat in the leathery cockpit!

Worked a forest fire at Porcupine Mountain in 1979. My high-time month as far as flying time is concerned.

Spent some time here in autumn 1978 for a helicopter competition. Fun

For some weeks in early spring 1975 we flew CH-135s from Alert down along the coast to a place known only as Ho Hum Bay restocking batteries and working out on that thick, old ice, supporting Defence Research Establishment (Pacific), I think. Dropped by Fort Conger, Cape Aldrich, Hazen Lake. Drilled holes through the ice and tried to get the char to bite at something. The char had more luck than we had!
In those days the station consisted mostly of ATCO huts. Comfy enough for the time we were there. I hear it is different now.

So he is still at it fyi, it just seemed to good to be true so i checked out the info on the internet. Sure enough the Rubin Tucker name came up. He is using two English Bulldog puppies and saying he needs 198 for two or 100 for one for the paper transfer. I am so glad I found this post before i paid or got my hopes up. Thank You

This is not an airport and is not used by commertial nor private pilots. there is a new airport not active yet for The Marvelles Caves, but it's aproximately 15 NM east from this location.

VOR Moved
The VOR Listed in the CJ-27 WAC for MDJB Joaquin Balaguer Int. (Higuero) Has Been Moved to MDCY (El Catey Int.) and is active on 115.8 (DCY), it's now located in the notrhen part of the island.

AVGAS 100 LL
No 100 LL served anymore. Surprising decision to exclude all pistons engines. No Notam mentioned it on international basis, just internal Italian information. Now in Sardinia, only Cagliari is serving 100 LL at crazy price of 3,02 Euros/liters ! !!!!!

What a surprise!
I was in Montreal on Sunday 6 June, riding in the Tour de l'Isle bicycle ride. (I'm a cyclist and a pilot.) So, I was riding along Boulevard Gouin with about 25000 other cyclists, enjoying the river and the neighborhood, when suddenly this lot full of seaplanes appeared on my left. I almost fell off the bike! I couldn't believe it. What a neat seaplane base!
My suggestion to the operators - sign up to get one of Montreal's wonderful Bixi public bicycle stations at the base. Central downtown is an easy 15 km from the base, and Montreal is an extremely bike-friendly city. For those who haven't experienced Bixi, these are public bike stations. You put in your credit card, pay $5, and take a bike. Ride to wherever you're going, return the bike to the nearest Bixi rack (they're everywhere), and pick up another one for your return trip.

Visited this airport briefly to pick up a friend. The fueler was very friendly, even though he was missing the hockey game to be there for me. The runway is at an angle; 0.65% up if landing on runway 26 (though it seems a lot more than that when landing). The airport is staffed with FSS who was also friendly. I presume the whole place is one big friendly Alberta town - next time I'll spend more time and find out for sure.
bulldog puppies
unfortunately we were suckered into this scam from a man that calls himself rubin tucker. he says his son died in a car accident and needs to get rid of the puppies cuz of bad memories. we fell for it and the only thing he asked was for $198.00 which is transfer paper work. then rubin would send out the puppies in the next flight. but the next day we got a bogus email from the airport in cameroon asking for more money $588.00 cuz they were not in a safe crate.. they even sent bogus pics... when i called the number for the airport which was also bogus and saw everyone elses postings... i was pissed. thank god i didnt sent them more money. but the jerks got another thing coming cuz he was stupid enough to call me on my cell phone { caller id is great} cuz he was wanting the wetern union money of 198.00 so badly and in a hurry.. i called him back after all this and told him off. and its not going to stop there. my local newspaper that posted this guys listing and the attorney general will here of this. rubin WILL get prosecuted in his own country.
