The restaurant is reopened and the new people couldn't be nicer. Took some family up flightseeing and the owners even brought out a portable so that those on the ground could listen to the exchange with the tower.

If you want to go to the algarve then you would use the airport at Faro. If like me you have a caravan in Ferreira Do Alentejo Beja will be perfect. So i think it is in the right place, when it opens.
Teacup Yorkies
I found female teacup yorkie on buyandsell.com I didnt think anything of it. Her fee was $120. I was like wow thats a really great deal. So I sent the money. Her name was Tina Dawson. Stay away from this woman! She puts on a story that will suck you in.. She says it was her daughters dog and that she died in a car crash 3 weeks beforehand. She comes off as a good "christian" woman. Then I get an email from the airport that I have to send $360 to cover the insurance. I thought it was a little wierd so I didnt send the money. I have been trying to get in touch with the woman so now she wont answer me. I am now out $120. I hate that this happened. Especially during the Christmas season. I want to tell everyone out there about this awful scheme and put this to an end.
museum is shambles
I used to stop at this field/museum back in '80's when driving to Chattanoga for training when working for EME.....lots for aircraft back then...really a shame to see it now...back then I could just wander around and take pics for hrs.....that seems to have been when the most a/c were there......does anybody have a complete list of all the a/c and the total inventory of the museum.....I remember several comm type military vans/trailers...I stopped there in about nov. of 2006......and I could have cried...that place had alot of potential...

a guy goes by Siniba responded back to me on his 2 yorkie puppies he had. Said he was from IL, when I asked if I could pick the puppies up he said no, Made me think about this. He lives next state over and they're free. Beware of this guy, he says he lost his wife in a car accident and the puppies were reminders of what he lost.I emailed him back and told him a few things, I'll see if he gets back to me on that.I wont send him any money western union or money gram. His emial is Sab.wills@yahoo.com. Funny wants me to send him 230.00 for shipping, makes you wonder.

I often fly low-ish over this field on my way to CYAM. I was curious about the selection of planes there. Some day I'll land and say 'hi', but after 3-4 hours of flying from Ottawa, I usually just want to finish my flight to the Soo.

Great little place to stop, no landing or tie down fees. A lot of interesting old planes to look around at. We had a cup of coffee and wnadered around, the owner offered us his vehicle to go for lunch if we wished.

hey!I also saw a ad for tea cup yorkies and as we speak the lady is emailing me ........... she want me topay $190 for the transfer of ownership and she and her husband will pay the rest. She wants me to transfer the money in the next 2 hours because their is a fight leaving in 2 hours. I didn't think it was a scam untill I contacted the airport and on they told me there is no fight!!!! I really believed them when I saw the pictures they sent...... this really sucks and the best of all they think they are christians........

Does that mean that the airport is actually open to airline service now? The last news I saw (2 November) still mentioned the opening in the future, and the Portuguese-language website still says it's in the last phase of construction (at least, as far as my limited Portuguese skills go -- too lazy to use Google Translate for a language so similar to Spanish).

First Hand Update
Polynesian airlines serves this airport with scheduled flights within Samoa and to/from American Samoa.
It was recently closed by the government citing safety concerns according to an American Samoan who I spoke to while waiting to take a flight to the other island of 'Upolu.
Better security and a new runway was installed to meet up with government standards. However, since the reopening of the airport it's been used much less by the public. Perhaps they don't know it's open again? Much better way to get to/from Savai'i/'Upolu than taking the ferry.

It's funny. I responded to an ad from Uncle Henry's. A local book, people buy, barter and trade from. I was delighted to see free puppies! My children desperately wanted a dog. I emailed the ad, and got a response from a woman whose name was Kristine Lee. She stated that she is 29, pregnant and married to Emmanuel Gomia. She stated they were moving and couldnt take the puppies...This whole story about how her grandfather was breeder and she got a dog for her wedding present and these puppies where the result. She then asked me for $100 per puppy. When I questioned it, since they were listed as free, she said I sounded wonderful and she would just send me the dogs....Then I decided to check, since it all sounded a little odd. And here I am. Luckily, I didnt send any money, or give out and information except the town that I live in. I was very basic. Watch out every one...! Her name is changing, but thr story is the samE!!!!

Only Albanian airport with scheduled service (?)
It looks like TIA may still be the only airport in the whole country with scheduled airline service, though there have been efforts to upgrade Kukës (LAKU) and Gjirokastër to handle scheduled service as well. The Italian government was helping with Gjirokastër at one point.
Airport status?
This was intended to be Albania's second airport with scheduled civil airline service, but some of the comments suggest that things aren't quite working out. Here's Google Translate's (not so great) attempt at translating the Albanian-language comments below (oldest to newest):

I was almost scammed too! Luckily, I couldn't read the address on the email they sent as a "confirmation" So, when I looked up the agency I saw everyone's reports about it all being a scam! I got the same story about a mission trip, blah, blah, blah! Thank goodness for your responses! I sent an email back stating I didn't want to be ripped off but a stupid money hungry thief! Thanks to all of you for the head's up!

I was already scammed, Same story according to yours, her family and her are on a missionary supposedly and when they moved they couldnt take any animals from another country so they are giving them away. They were coming from cameroon and stopping in France. I didn't pay a lot, but I am out $100. Compared to others I would say I am lucky. A friend of mine said it was probably a scam, and when I got an email from the "France" airport, they said that I had to pay an insurance fee, but that it was all refundable. I didn't want to be out $550 so I decided to do some research. Then I found this website, and everyone convinced me. I didn't want to believe but I guess it is true. The bad thing is that i gave some of my information. Now I am going to have to change my phone number.

General Aviation at Virginia
Controllers are very first world with some very skilled ones and the odd mediocre one. If flying VF take a little time to listen in and try to identify local landmarks used for reporting. Good for Helo flying with two "virtual" pads North and South. New International airport 18.5 kms to the North due to become operational shortly. Unknown impact at this stage.

Hodges Airpark Breakfast 11-14-09
There's a good breakfast served every third Saturday morning at Bill's hangar, starting around 0800. Lots of folks fly in for this so monitor 122.9 for runway 12 or 30. Park at the end of the row of T-hangars on the SE end. Several of us drive/fly up to Briar Patch airport (9GA1) for the EAA meeting and occasional lunch. Very casual meeting, mostly just meeting folks and talking flying.

I'm going through the same thing right now I guess I should of came on this site before to read your comments, I adopted 2 bulldogs and the guy is bending over backwards tryin to make me feel comfortable about this, but I wouldn't send money to him via western Union because I got scamed out of thousands of dollards a few years ago and am not taking chances like that again. but now you guys are saying that if I gave this guy my personal info he will or might commit crimes using my identity?

I last used this runway in 1964 when the Cubi Pt. Navy Flying Club used it for training with a Piper Colt. It was unpaved but in good condition and was attended by a man who asked for our flight information.

yes but i want to tell you that i am the fortunate person cos i receive one English bulldog from the said Emmanuel,i contacted his ad at uncle henrys and i pay $100,i was ask to pay 520$for crates and that $500 will be refunded to me and i did so and i receive the puppy and the my $300 though i was not happy cos my $200 was cut off,but i was lucky to have receive one puppy from him
