Hamilton Municipal Airport (KMNZ) has the FAA LID "MNZ", identical to this airport's IATA code, which confuses flight-tracking sites. Note that "HEF" is the FAA LID for Manassas Regional, but *not* the IATA code.

Manassas Regional Airport (KHEF) has the IATA code MNZ, which is identical to the FAA LID for this airport (the FAA LID for Manassas is HEF). This confuses most flight-tracking sites.

Rude woman at passport control swore at me! 16 Feb 2025
Upon handing over my passport for checking, I put away my mobile phone in my bag when she said in a sarcastic manner 'Let me know when you're ready'. At first I didn't hear/understand her so I said 'Excuse me?' to which she repeated in an angrier tone. She gave me dirty looks while flicking through my passport pages before throwing it back towards me. Of course, I was angry by that point so I went to grab my passport and boarding pass in a hurried manner to get away from her but she snatched my passport back and didn't give it to me for a minute, expecting me to apologise. She said I was being rude grabbing my passport in a hurry and expected me to apologise which I didn't! She eventually returned my items but hissed 'so f*cking rude' which perfectly described her disgusting manners. She was at the end of one of the passport control counters - a black woman with short cropped hair with black frame glasses. Sunday 16th Feb 2025

Got to fly a C172 with the Aeroclub du Sur and instructore Pierre, and managed to climb to 10,000 ft to get a view over the volcanoes and craters, up over the clouds and down through the valleys, absolutely stunning!!!!!

Dulles Aviation Closed
KHEF is undergoing a major renovation on the West Ramp and in the future for the East Ramp. The Dulles Aviation Building and the neighboring hangar have been razed. The current plan is to upgrade the West Apron for more turbine services. Additionally, the Airport Management are working with the FAA to get scheduled passenger service using narrow-body aircraft (B737, A320, etc.) Currently those plans aren't expected to bear fruit for five years or so.
