Airport closed

Google Earth (5/2001) shows the runway was a 400 m straight stretch of dirt road. Current Google Earth shows houses now built along the roadside.

Amazing

Took the family to visit Upper Canada village . We landed in Morrisburg . Very nice airport , excellent paved runway . The grass to the sides was kept very trim and neat and a cable was conveniently laid across the parking area making tie down very easy . A short walk ,even with a 3 year old and 6 year old brought us to the Upper Canada Village site .Picnic areas , beach , as well as a golf course are all within a very short walk as well. A shame more pilots don't know about this wonderful airport .

Watch out for glider activity.

Friendly ATC

As a newish pilot, I always appreciate a non-class B personality in the controllers.

Be on your game

This place is short and skinny. On top of that, it sits in a valley. It's a neat place but you better know your plane. I actually landed here in bad weather and I had no problem, but I can imagine pilots running long and ending up on the golf course.

Following your successful landing, go around the creek and get a meal at the Copper Kettle.

I flew in today, the FBO is unbelievable. Beautiful with a very swanky pilot's lounge. I think I would get spoiled if I flew out of here regularly!

Nice facility

I recently landed at Dwight with my C340.

I was very surprised at the high terrain and trees at the approach end of 27 and 02.

The grass is not smooth but tufts of grass separated by dirt. Still very safe but noisy .

Be careful at the approach END of 27 as it is sandy and soft. I got stuck but very helpful workers towed me out.

Beautiful countryside and very cooperative enterprise Car Rental in Huntsville.

Learned to fly at this airport

Granite aviation does such great job and there is always interesting planes and people at this airport.

Picture of

VOR Freqency

I have notice that the information page for Navigation for TVSA is missing. For example TVSA VOR information is missing, while other nearby airports VOR are listed. Is TVSA VOR inop? Or is it that no importance is given to ensure the web-page reflect the correct information for people in the aviation industry that will seek out this page for correct and up to date information for airports in St. Vincent & the Grenadines?

Ediz Hook K NDB is 338 kHz not 317 kHz

Ediz Hook was a marine NDB on 317 kHz but the frequency was changed to 338 kHz May 2010. Ident is still "K" - the last single letter NDB in the USA!

Picture of

Mule Creek

Mule Creek is a 4000X75 emergency grass strip. It is littered with gofer holes, but usable for bush planes. The Haines highway gets socked in quite a bit, so it is nice to have this option.

re: History Of Rose Aviation on Hawthorne Airport from 1963

I was a line boy there in 1973.

I worked there for while. It was nice place to work. I was an A & P Student at. Northrop Institue of Technology. Her mechanics help me learn about airplanes. They needed me to work more hours. I. Couldn't I was a student studying hard. They "let me go"

Such a loss W52/IGX

There will come a time in the future when the university wishes they still had this Airport.
