fun day at the airport.

Would like to know if you are going to have fun day at the airport this year.Had a very nice day .Watching planes coming in for a landing and having a change to take a close up look of all the planes.

24h fuel!

Very friendly reception, reasonable fuel prices, and self-service to boot (use your credit card at the pump). 24h fuel access means you don't need to worry about getting there before the FBO closes. Wish more airports had fuel services liket his.

re: Your marker is off.

You should notify the FAA then, because this site has it the same place the FAA puts it - 41.2667N, 80.76645W

Your marker is off.

It needs to be moved about 2 inches to the right in this image.

Buttonville update August 2013

Buttonville is a great little airport if your coming into the Toronto area or just need to clear customs and head north.

There are two Falcon 7X's, 1 Falcon 50EX, 1 Falcon 20, 2 Falcon 10, 1 Learjet 45, 1 Citation XL, 1 Citation Mustang, and 1 Eclipse EA500 based on the field, couple of King Airs, some Cheyennes, and 200 + GA aircraft.

It's easier to get downtown Toronto from here than from Pearson, it's get a great FBO, a restaurant, flight lounge, passenger lounge, aviation store, very friendly and helpful staff.

Due to ongoing sample tests for future construction, it appears the airport will still be open for another couple of years - so 2015.

re: Back up in 2012

Landing fees for small private general aviation aircraft

If you own a Cessna, Piper, Beach or ultralight aircraft be prepared to pay landing fees, stay away and spend your money at a community that welcomes your flying business .

I bought gas and later got a landing fee charge sent to me by mail.

Picture of

Free and friendly

This is a very nice, clean and friendly airport with no landing fees for private aircraft. I've landed here a few times for cheap fuel. Additionally it is a great starting place to fly around one of the most beautiful landscape areas in Canada.

It's the summer of 2013 and the flying is great, people in Nova Scotia are very friendly, courteous and so easy going.

Excellent Place to Go

One of my all-time favorite airports, and often the first place my wife wants to go. Friendly people, including the guy who sells biplane rides and has a mini museum in his hangar; plus the folks who do the sky-diving. A wide variety of planes fly in here, so there are usually some interesting birds to look at. Also feathered type birds at the great park and pond across the street from the airport. The city bus stops there if you'd like a ride into Pismo Beach where there are lots of tourist attractions. But a couple of blocks stroll in either direction on that street will take you to restaurants and other interesting things to see & do. As you can tell, there are big sand dunes next to the airport. Vehicles are allowed on the beach, yet there are plenty of quiet places for sand and surf. One word of caution: watch out for fog and low clouds that can come in fairly quickly, but if you stay aware there's generally plenty of time to get airborne before weather changes.

Great gateway for Jasper & Prince George

Have stopped here several times. Usually deserted, but once met the friendly guy who does charter flights over Jasper and Mt. Robson. Nice place for a stretch and rest coming or going between Rockies and prairies.

Great Airport

Good fuel prices, walk to Santa Ynez, and if you want to wait there's a number to call for a free ride to the Chumash native casino (big white building complex at an angle off the West end of the runway).

Excellent Airport BUT

The security system is a pain the butt.

You can not go through security with passengers unless you have a stamped flight plan and it is a LONG walk for the security gate the the COmandante's office.

Good restaurant and helpful avionics and maintenance people on the field.

Reasonable landing fees and parking.

Easy access to fuel but some personel have an attitude and are always on Mexican Time.

Nice golf course nearby !!

Good service received

On Monday July 19th myself and a friend flew into Port Elgin airport. The plan was to go to lunch at Lord Elgin Fish and Chip Restaurant.

The gentleman on duty at the airfield, I believe his name was Bill , was kind enough to drop us at the restaurant on his way home for lunch, and then

pick us up on his return to work.

I needed fuel so I started up my plane and taxied over to the fuel pump. All gassed up now, and I was faced with a dead battery.

No worries . Bill initially tried to hand prop the plane , when that was unsuccessful he tried to charge the dead battery from the one in his truck. Unfortunately that didn’t work either , so he then boosted me with the truck. The engine roared to life and off we went.

Just wanted to thank him again for going above and beyond the call . Thanks Bill !!

Hi,

We are tried to calling and it said the phone number was disconnected. Can you please provide us with the correct phone number? We are interested in landing at the airport when we fly out to Shuswap.

Thank you for your help,

Crop dusters

Any regulations for crop dusters? One is flying so low over our house and trees. We have a licensed wildlife rehab and bird sanctuary, and our birds are actually getting hurt trying to avoid his regular low flyovers. Number C-GFTS.

Reply to @ptomblin:

Me again, I noticed the quarry while looking for Hilltop... maybe you'd want to leave the entry to let people know it's not a real airport... it's mentioned on quite a few web sites.

re: Data problem

Reply to @ptomblin:

I'm notifying Google to see if they'll take it off Maps... i'd love to know how this came to pseudo-existence but I suspect I never will :P

re: Data problem

I'm going to close this unless somebody objects.

Reply to @ptomblin:

Is anybody cares this is a quarry, seems to have been one since 1995... very bumpy for landing.

Picture of

3.5 nauticals from les cedres

the airport is 3.5 nauticals from les cedres airport.....

I suspect possible conflicts in the patters if flying a large one.

Picture of

Logan Fees and Fuel Prices.

Out of curiosity just checked on skyvector. The fuel prices are also extremely hefty in Logan and in Bedford/Hanscom. On average Massport is charging USD 2.50 - 3.00 more than the surrounding fields. Maybe the FAA need to be informed about that and on top of this all Massport run airports should be boycotted by GA and business aviation. Beverly, Lawrence, Norwood, Marshfield are still very good alternatives and with a little coordination with their local FBO's transportation to downtown is not a problem.

Original Name

This airstrip was originally named George Campert Memorial Airport in honor of the builder's brother who died when his USAF bomber crashed in Holland (I believe it was Holland) back in WWII. It's a shame the new owner had to change the name.

Charlottesville Airport

This is a nice airport for the Jet Set. Landmark Aviation has

friendly service people.....

However, the security issues make it not a really good place

for making friends, learning to fly, and the way things used

to be in aviation.

Other airports around are somewhat better for these purposes

such as Orange, Gordonsville, Eagles Nest (Waynesboro)

Picture of

Well maintained

This airport is a very nice airport,i just didn't like the waiting for your plane room. I felt like a fish in a fish tank.

re: Hastings Field

I'm trying to find the name of the person who recently cut the airstrip in Jul 2013. I own a nearby one-acre field in Port Washington which desperately needs cutting and can't find anyone to do it.

Thanks,

Jan
