Yes, it's a scam. Do not send money.

I have fear of sending money

hello my name is Betty and I am from Nicaragua would you please help me, I want to adopt two young English bulldogs, But the owner wants me to pay half the shipping charges. I agree, she says she is paid directly to the travel agency, but I have fear that it is a scam, she said that is north of the bay from Cameroon, my question is: I can trust this agency to send my money? she can claim and ordered the money sent? says it expands two hours to get the puppies at my house. I live very long in africa, so I do not arrive in two hours .... I have fear that it is a scam! please help advise me, What Can I Do?

Potchefstroom airport

University, colleges, Government Departments, people from Potch + neighbour towns and mines can use this airport effectively. You wasted the tax payers money on the Spaniards and don’t use this airport to it’s full potential. Why don’t you develop a kind of a β€œLanseria” airport?

Runway info

Recently updated the runway info for Watts bridge as it was way off ( something like 3000m & 2000m ) My figures are estimates but close to the mark.

Be aware there is a road and a fence across the NW end of 12-30 and the last few hundred meters is not in use.

Quiet and friendly to ultralights

The field is nicely maintained by EAA chapter 65. If you fly there regularly, they ask you join them ($50/year or so).

Picture of Paraman

Friendly owner

The field's owner, Newton Little, is an aviation enthusiast that is too old to fly but maintains the strip and welcomes guest pilots. He lives in the house next to the field - please ask him for permission or inquire about hangaring your plane there. There is also an RC field on the premises. Great scenery to the NW.

Picture of

Whitehorse Ranch Airport

Great landmark when flying the Black Rock / Owyhee area. Good emergency field, the associated ranch is about 3/4 mile East of the strip. Probably not a good idea to drop in uninvited without a really good reason.

Scammer

Beware of amanda123kelley@yahoo.com. She will take you for everything. I should know I just got scammed. Does anyone know how to get my money back or is it a lost cause?

Sea plane base is closed

Lake is drying fast , and not really enough depth to land on water here ( water is a loose term, for mud and sludge )

Vending machines

The flying school is the only (sort-of) public building at the airport. It has washrooms, a restaurant that operates only on weekends, and vending machines available the rest of the week.

Fuel

Burlington has both 100LL and Jet-A. The fuel pumps are operated by the airport, not the Spectrum Airways flight school.

re: pet scammer

All offers of pets from Cameroon Africa are scams, without exceptions!

Expensive airport

I just called Glanford Aviation (Shell), the only FBO that appears to offer 100LL, and they charge a $25 facility fee for a single-engine piston plane (not waived with a fill-up) on top of the airport's $18.50 minimum landing fee. That means that you're out $43.50 + HST = $48.72 the second your wheels hit the Shell apron, before you even start to put fuel in your tank. Would you fill up your car at a gas station that charged almost $50 to just to enter their lot and park in front of the pump?

Even big-city airports are usually much cheaper than this (Pearson is, of course, an exception). I don't know what the city of Hamilton (and Shell) are thinking, except that they want to scare as many visitors as possible away from Hamilton, and make sure no one spends any money in the local economy.

Reply to @AndreVenture:

Yesterday, at 9h45 the Supreme Court of Canada said that Aviation is under Federal juridiction ONLY!!!! The provincial and municipal governments have nothing to say about where and how to built an airport!!!

Winnebago County could care less about this airport, there is no promotion what so ever, meanwhile Outagamie and Austin Straubel have first class facilities...What a waste of taxpayers money..

Picture of

Berz Airport

Well someone has there facts wrong, I was a regular at Berz from 1961 to 1970, I was employed there from 1966-1970. No Learjet came in 1967 that's for sure. October 1966 American Jet Leasing was the first Lear to arrive and depart at this airport, the next time a Lear came in was 1968 when Bill Freehan and Denny McClain chartered one from Pepsi-Cola to fly to Denver after winning the World Series. Berz was sold to Rockwell and it became Grand Prix Airport in 1971 that remained until the county bought it where it is now Oakland Troy Executive..

Fast food within walking distance

There's a McD's and a Subway just northeast of the field, there might be some other places too...

Very scenic but was a bit bumpy when I visited (lots of hills around).

Picture of

No real food on location

Despite what the CFS says, the only food available at the airport is vending machine stuff (not real food IMHO)

Nice Airport, Mediocre Service

While the flying club members are friendly, the terminal staff are less than pleasant to deal with. Next time, I'll take my money elsewhere.

Airport sold

The airport has been sold to developers, who plan to continue to operate it and to build a residential airpark around it:
