Legaspi City International Airport
This international airport once finished will connect Luzon to the Visayas and probably Mindanao.It is going to be great.I really can wait to see it in operations.I can go home to my family in Ligap City every year or even every 6 months the least direct from where I am here overseas.I also think that my fellow Bicolanos from all over the world will be thinking the same as I do.

When is this going to open?I cant wait to go home to Albayflying directly from Australia to make it an easier and shorter destination and for my fellow Bicolanos and tourists from all over the world.It will surely bring a lot of jobs and tourism in the region so hopefully it is already getting closer to a finish.
Chicago Meigs Airport
I can't believe the airport is closed. It was my default airfield for Microsoft's Flight Simulator and I have landed there hundreds of times and flown to and from O'Hare airport as many times. It's a shame!

No, but i wish they would hurry up & get it running, it would save us a lot of money , time , fuel etc to , getting to the Algarve from mid Portugal.
Bagabag Airport
Flew there on 10th July 2010 on a Cessna 172 but Tower never answerd on 123.40 (closed for maintenance?). Then flew on to Mrmp but that appeared to be a dilapidated abandoned runway too dangerous too land. Poor co-pilot had to pee in her water bottle !

i think ken jones airport should be made for small flights to land there, from montego bay and jamaica, it would create new jobs for portland people and also it will be easier for relatives coming home now and then on holiday to portland. It would also boost the tourist side of pretty Portland

Does anyone own or manage Dog Creek Airport?
Hi there,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a manager or contact regarding the use of Dog Creek airport. I am a student doing a simulated prescribed burn plan for the area and I want to use the airport as our hub for fire operations.

THere is a local frequency for this airport 122,40. The runway is 17/34. It is 1.800m long. Although you can use all of it, officialy both threshold are displaced but you still have 800m.

Maryland Air (FBO)
Maryland Air is the FBO in the terminal building just NW of the approach end of Rwy 22. Visited 7/12-15/2010 in a C-182. They proved very helpful, friendly and courteous in providing rental car, a/c parking and directions. I'd use them again.

Great gas prices and cheap tie down for a stay on the beautiful shore of Lake Huron. Airport is firendly and helpful,

re: late night flights
I know it can be rough for residents, but in most cases, the airports were there first and the cities have grown out and around them, so the people who buy the houses or sign the leases do so knowing that there's an airport nearby.
Of course, that assumes that real-estate agents are honest — I know one couple who bought a house right under the approach to CYYZ 24L, after being assured by their slimy agent that the airport used the runway only for emergencies (I guess the definition of "emergency" is "when the wind is blowing from the southwest"). It was cool for their kids watching the planes passing low over the park playground, though.

hey people it the owner's daughter just leaving a kinda note thingo.... anyway i just thought i'd let you that our airstrip is only a k and a half long or so and my grandad made it with guess and explode technique of dinamite sooo its a wee bit rough in patches and if you could contact us if ur planing on using it that would be g8 as cattle are often on it.... thxs cya's ;)
late night flights
YVR's website indicates that international airports are 24 hour operations in Canada. However if you look at Toronto's departure schedule, you will see that traffic generally stops at 1:30am and resumes at 6:00am In Vancouver we have flights leaving up to and including 3 am with only a three hour lull to 6 am. Our airport is smack dab in the heart of our cities. Convenient but not for sleep.

Received a report that this airport is closed, and the satellite view seems to confirm that.

I received an e-mail that this airport is closed and that there's a road through it. I can see no evidence of the road in the satellite shot, but the "Map" view does show a road crossing the runway. I've marked it as closed for now - can any locals confirm?

Black Donald Lake Seaplane Base
You will receive superb, friendly service from Shawn and Valerie Popkie and their family. Shawn flies a beautiful C185 on straight floats. The base is located on the north shore and is sheltered by islands from the main part of the lake. The resort is maintained in pristine condition with many gardens by Valerie. It is a nice airport with a lot of traffic.
Runway
Increase the length of the runway to accommodate larger jets. Also upgrade to international standards with boarding bays like all other international airports eg Piarco has those, so passengers don't have to climb down those antique stairs, then walk to the terminal building etc. The planes can just pull up to the bays and passengers get off and walk into the airconditioned building and straight to customs and immigration.

Westjet inaugural flight
Departed from El Catey airport June 2010 headed for Toronto then on to Calgary. Fantastic airport and what a relief from using Puerto Plata and then driving so far. Just wait for the new road to be completed and time to Las Terrenas will be even shorter again. Samana will no longer be the worlds best hidden secret.
