For a very low traffic airport, the restaurant is amazing

Kimsquit airstrip

Was built back in the coastal logging camp days, has been unserviceable off and on due to logs and rocks placed on it to deter users apparently. More of a super cub strip now.

There is an airstrip just n.e of the same bay by the dean riverside which is usable

Adelaide Biplanes

Browsing thru most of the comments, anyone who has attempted to fly into ADG and have encountered the same problems as many of us have, would have to agree with the negative comments.

Refer to Alex, dated 28 April 2015. "Help a fellow Aussie battler out"

The operator is not an Aussie battler. He is a POM.

I presume that this is to help and contribute towards the Adelaide Biplanes rude collection for monies towards funding the costs of the EPA.

An EPA involvement which Adelaide Biplanes are directly responsible for by exceeding the movement limitations of which they were aware of.

What gets me is that they are asking others to donate to fund their business commitments as they are bound by, as I am led to understand, the shareholder and board resolution which agreed to the license provided that Adelaide Biplanes paid the costs and not the shareholders who did not crate the problem and that a EPA license to exceed the movements is pf no value or

benifit to the shareholders.

Now I have been directed to the Adelaide Biplanes facebook site .

Whilst collecting donations to fund their business, check out the house that they have just built. The "Boathouse" ????????

At what costs. How rude to shove this on facebook whilst asking for donations, even a poster in the woman's loo at ADG asking for donations. What a place to situate that??????

This may explain the csyphe of these people.

The most expensive fuel around. Goolwa good place to fuel if like me flying from Victoria.

As I am told, and research confirms this. the most expensive rates around the flying schools for training or hire and fly.

Profit is good but greed is bad.

I and others now avoid the place like a plague.

Such a shame as has always been a great friendly place in the past with reasonably priced fuel.

Sadly, in my opinion, and as I can gather by the comments, many others, abusive, bad mannered operator and unsafe circuit procedures with multiple runways in use and sometimes no radio calls so totally confusing.

Almost as if they do not want other aviators flying in to ADG as the impression is that they want it all to themselves and others are an imposition.

Flew into Goolwa, Mate picked us up from Adelaide. Took the opportunity to drive to ADG for a look and looks nice but a dead, unfriendly airfield with only some Adelaide Biplane aircraft visible.

Dont spend any monies with them, not at all interested in one.

A dead, no soul, unfriendly airfield.

Jetstar International Customer Service

After a very long trip to the international airport to get first hand information on the flight status to Bali....due to the non-communication from Jetstar services re: flights to Bali,it was to our dismay, that no one, absolutely so one from Jetstar was in an information booth or was contactable. No person in attendance at the international airport from an airline that is supposedly, if you believe their advertisments, customer friendly. It has, this past week been a first hand experience of the lack of customer care and duty of care. It has been utterly, frustrating. The natural elements of course one can accept and understand and the airlines do have safety measures that need to be abided by. It is the total lack of duty of care to the paying customers that is unacceptable. I would not ever again, book or fly with Jetstar the subsiduary of Qantas. Qantas too, has been most unhelpful in their duty of care to customers. The customer service officers promised to sms, email and or phone for updates...in the past 7 days, not one sms, email or call. As a social media communicator I will make it a point to inform all, that the service received from this Australian airline and its Mother company, Qantas, were uncommunicative and unsupportive. The decision we make now is to delete all Jetstar and Qantas flights from our international itinerary, regardless of the discounted flights etc. Experience has proved that Jetstar and Qantas, are unacceptably not customer friendly.

TERMINALS

Xiamen has two major terminals used by travellers, named as Terminal 3 (for international flights and all Xiamen Airlines flights); Terminal 4 is for domestic flights within China. It is the quickest airport I have ever moved through for international arrivals but is notorious for departures being delayed because of lack of air space as it is one of the busiest airports in China due to its popularity for domestic tourism, especially in the golden holiday periods. The proximity to Taiwan also creates a heavy military base concentration and at times, the air space is closed for military purposes, not that anyone expects war to break out any more.

Nice and big

I went there the other night, it was very quite at about 19:30 local time. The MF frequency was unmanned but just used it as an uncontrolled airport. Very easy to see at night, lights are sufficient. Keep in mind that runway 05 has a displaced threshold, it is lighted very well to show you it is displaced.

International flight connection to Jaipur

Earlier we use to hear that Jaipur Airport is small. Runway is small.

New Terminal is fully operational

Runway is expanded and even Boeing 747 can land.

Why not start new flights to Europe ,USA and East Asia countries.

Jaipur is a very popular Tourist Destination.

Concerned persons should pay attention in this direction too.

Glider Soaring

Bunyan Airfield is the home of the Canberra Gliding Club, which has operated from this site for more than 30 years. The site offers a range of lift types, including thermals, ridge soaring, mountain lee waves, and seabreeze convergence lift. The Australian altitude record for gliders (33,000 feet above sea level) was set during a flight from Bunyan Airfield in 1995 using mountain lee waves.

Duty Free not EU compliant

I have just flown to Amsterdam from Kigali for a connecting flight. They wouldn't let me take the Duty Free I bought at Kigali to my next flight and threw it away. This is because Kigali did not seal the bag properly. This is such a waste and I wonder how many other passengers suffered the same.

The Chileka Club

I remember Alan Wood, he worked with my father, Len Johansson. Marina Maltese first lived three years in Zambia where I knew her and her sister Cynthia. We went to the same school there. Then they moved to Malawi, and after a while we did too. I think they left before we arrived there though. I'm Maria Johansson and we arrived in Malawi in 1974. We lived quite near the Chileka club on the other side of the Chileka road. I don't remember that Alan Wood had children though. What might your name be?

Amazing Airport

Flight was great. Got threaten by a terrorist but it was worth the experience. I would recommend Yass airport to anyone who truly wants a great aussie experience, even though I nearly died after hitting a cow but still it was great and there is only ten plane crashes a year. Definitely returning with my family, I definitely McLoved it!

The airport security was awesomely slack too, the staff all bogans and the plane took three turns to take off, but you know what? I McLoved every second of it.

Picture of

Bad airport

I don"t want to go back to Vietnam for visiting because if you would like to get out of airport without any hassle, you have to pay to people who is working there from top to bottom. It is bad, don't even think about it, nothing is interesting there for you to see any way.

Picture of

Chileka Club

I was there at the Chileka club early to mid 70's. My Dad Alan Wood worked for the airline. I remember crispy bacon and samosas and swimming in the pool out the back of the club. I remember a girl called Marina Maltese and smoking 555 cigarettes in secret.

IATA code confirmation please?

I just added the IATA code ESP to this airport, and I'm not 100% sure. IATA code lookup shows ESP assigned to "Birchwood-Pocono" in East Stroudsburg, which has been closed since 1996: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birchwood-Pocono_Airpark) However, a few non-authoritative sources have ESP assigned to this airport (do a Google search for "N53 ESP"). Can anybody please confirm this change?

Multiple IATA/ICAO codes

According to Wikipedia (and verified in IATA code search) this airport has three active IATA codes: "BSL (Basel) is the Swiss code, MLH (Mulhouse) is the French code and EAP (EuroAirport) is the neutral code."

Is there a good way to store all three values in the IATA field? Maybe all three codes separated by delimiting characters something like "BSL/EAP/MLH"? Or must there only be one IATA code?

It also appears to have two ICAO codes: LFSB and LSZM.

closed, and yet...

According to official sources, this field is closed; however certain sources seem to indicate landing there is not completely impossible. The NON-OFFICIAL aerodrome database, edition 2015, (www.aerobaze.cz) even mentions the availability of AvGas and MoGas.
