Air Strip and Hangers
Hi There, i was wondering weather you can help me. I am a researching for Migrate Films Company and have been back and forth trying to find dusty air strips with Hangers (kind of deserted) so small landing strips are what we are looking for to pitch for this international shoot. I have looked for the air strips in the follwing places between Pottsville & Eendekuil- Malmesbury, Wellington, Tulbagh, Loeriesfontien, Niewoudtville, Calvinia, Sutherland. I cannot seem to get my hands on any photographs. Do you have any suggestions who might or where i might be able to find? sorry if this is the incorrect forum for this my research on these places has just lead me to here and desperate times call for desperate measures.
If you do have any suggestions pls get back to me at frances@atomikpictures.com. It would be such a great help to just talk with someone who knew these smaller landing strips.

Worst airport!
The immigration officers all suck! They are disrespectful to their fellow kababayan and would intimidate and humiliate you with so much questions as if you are a criminal when all you just wanted is to travel and enjoy life. I've never experienced that in any immigration even in abroad. just only in Clark! They are all acting as if their airport is high-class.
The saddest part is, because you have been interrogated and held a long time, the airplane leaves you! As if people are just raking money from the streets. Their hard-earned travel cost would just come to * , re-book a ticket 8-10 times the cost of your original plane ticket.
Come on DMIA! You make the Philippines worse. You're not even worth a single centavo of the big taxes i pay in BIR for your salary.

it took me just 20 minutes to arrive and out of the airport ,you get off the plane, short walk to immigration 10 minute que then short walk to collect your luggage in 10 minutes then a very short walk to customs and you are out , very pleased indeed i have been to so many international airport and need to walk 45 minute to get to immigration in some other airport you need to catch a train to get to your luggage and immigration

The FAA thinks there is an private airstrip here. There are literally thousands of private airstrips in the United States, and many of them don't look like much on Google Maps.

There is again partiality between amravati airport and solapur airport in maharastra as amravati is in vidarbha and solapur is in western maharastra and the home minister sushil kumar shinde is from solapur that too of congress party so there is a huge difference between these two airports. govt is constructing a bigger airport in solapur and a smaller airport in amravati and only 2 months and 15 days remaining to complete 5 years of approval of amravati airport still there is no developement at the site,congress and ncp both parties gives false promises about the developement in vidarbha there is not much developement in amravati sez also other than india bulls power plant no other big company is started what is happening to bdl missile unit and wagon repair shop at amravati or the govt is trying to move these projects to different location in maharastra.god save vidharbha,it's people and industries.as the govt is acting as a enemy of vidarbha.

Gander hospitality
Our USAirways flight from Dublin to Philadelphia was diverted to Gander due to mechanical problems. The staff at Gander was extremely friendly and welcoming. They added a second internet connection and kept the café open. Thank you for your hospitality.

Moutaunview Airport
The Air Cadets do glider pilot training in the Summer starting beginning July and finish mid August. In the Spring (Apr thru start of Jun) and Fall (beginning Sep till beginning of Nov) also do glider familiarization flights for the local Air Cadet sqns.

Aegean-Olympic to reduce prices
In a recent press release following the acquisition of Olympic by Aegean, the company proposes (effective 1/12/2013) to reduce air ticket prices to €39 and to between 0-20€ (depending on the time of year) if your ongoing/incoming journey is on an Olympic/Aegean flight. If this is implemented, it's excellent news for Paros (also Naxos, and the other 10 Greek "public service routes").

Announcements
The announcements at the airport drive me crazy. The terrible use of their voices, the pitch of the voice, the pronouncements and the tone is absolutely terrible. I just can't understand why you don't coach your announcers properly. This is a world-class airport, except for the terrible annoucements. It seems as if they really don't care what they sounds like and if they have no proud of who they are or who they represent. Kindly note that I have made a sound rcording of this unslaught on our ears and will definitely bring it to the attention of whoever wants to hear it.

Please can someone explain why the arrivals info NEVER shows when the BA flight is due? As far as your info is concerned it doesn't exist but it arrive here 5 times a week so why doesn't it show up????
Runway
Runway is a dirt strip 1000 feet by 50. Trees down both sides with 50 foot Hydro lines 250 feet from the north end of the runway. Strip is muddy in the rainy times.

International flights
When will International flights to Singapore/Hong Kong/Malaysia commence? Then Mangaloreans living in countries other than Middle East can travel directly to Mangalore instead of landing at Mumbai or Bangalore. This will be really helpful for people who travel from such a long distance changing flights, suffering jet lag and having a lot of luggage especially women travelling alone or with small children and disabled or old age people.

One beautiful airport
Best thing about Golden airport its is location - simply gorgeous! The town itself looks a bit beaten by today's economy, but still cute.
Approaches are wide open, though terrain is quite high and circuit looks pretty "interesting" on the downwind. Look for the electric station, cables and posts while on short final northbound. Nothing special, obstacles clearly marked - just don't come in too flat.
Active helicopter traffic, so stay on the radio - and these guys are professionals! Hangglider and paraglider ramp on the mountain SE of the airport - like a huge bald spot near the top - with corresponding activity. Keep an eye on them while flying towards Alberta, following the published VFR route
Friendly and clean FBO, runway and the ramp in good conditions. Pleasure to visit.
