One day soon I hope.
Having spent 2 years living in Rabaul when I was a kid, this is one airport I REALLY hope to be flying into one day soon. My love for Rabaul is so immense, I am now a member of the new Facebook group called Reviving Rabaul ENB. Our aim as a volunteer group is to do whatever we can to help return Rabaul to her former glory. If you feel the same way about our beloved town and want to get involved, come and check us out.

You wouldn't want to do that in real life as it's a private "prior permission required" and as you might have seen in a recent comment on another such airport, landing without permission can lead to dire legal consequences if not outright violence.

Pilot's have better things to do other than harrassing you or anyone else. It is in our own best interest to do so. Why would we shoot our own foot? We are trained to fly neighborly from day one and go way out of our way doing it. "continuous flying around properties"??? 0_o The owner of Twin Oaks has bent over backwards to do everything to limit noise including reshaping the traffic pattern so as to not overfly your house. Yes, we know who you are. This airport was here decades before you. Too bad you didn't look at a map or look outside before you bought the house! Doh! I hope you never need life flight or an animal rescue flight.

Car Rental
It is such a pity there are no car rental outlets at this airport, it makes visiting your beautiful country very difficult because getting about is an issue.

Other than a declared emergency, owner's written permission in the form of a fully executed general liability waiver executed by pilot and spouse, witnessed by a Notary Public required PRIOR TO LANDING! Thank you for the information. Does anyone have a source for the airport move? I can't see the new airport in Google sat imagery (probably because it's too new), so I'm looking for some type of confirmation. The Panamanian civil aviation authority web site at http://www.aeronautica.gob.pa/noticia/index.php wasn't helpful.

Great little aerodrome with 2 grass runways. Note a bit rough due to the terrain but solid even after a rainstorm. 1,900' and 1400'

Excellent facility and friendly staff. One of my favorite airports. Great unicom service and good fuel prices.

maharastra government is not doing anything for developing industries and infrastructure in vidharbha i have sent 15-20 mails and published on the internet regarding the email address of amravati sez which is not working from more than 7-8 months it is only contact option on the website of amravati sez to get the needed information for any industry which is interested to set up their plant/factory/unit in amravati sez if the contact email address itself is not working how the industry people will get the proper information about the availability of land required permissions.this issue must be considered with hig priority and very high severity.thanks

I can make out what might be a landing strip beside the pond, but it's extremely small -- it wouldn't work for anything but an ultralight, at best.

"International" is a bit of a misleading term. All you need to be an Airport of Entry (AoE) is to have customs services available. In Canada, we have grass strips and even water aerodromes that you could call "international."

It's in a lot of older databases. Marked as closed, assuming that it went out of service and was built over. If anyone has more information, please let us know.

Thanks for your comment. We rely on Google Maps for our satellite imagery, and on FlightStats.com for arrival and departure information, so unfortunately, we're unable to present better information until they make it available.

yes she is filipino citizen, if immigration at clark are in a bad mood or they take a dislike to you they take filipino in side room grill them for hours and then refuse to let them travel making excuses you have not correct paperwork, hotel voucher, show money, cfo certificate , anything else they make up and yopu lose your flight money and and cant travel, im british so im ok to travel but when you ve made plans as a couple then its ruined your vacation
re: Close to Edmonton and price of fuel
I hope that good things do come of the change and maybe some upgrades, I have heard that they have increased prices on aircraft parking (almost double) and that a couple of aircraft may have left already. I am not currently in province so am not using this airport, but would love to see it thrive especially in light of YXD fore coming closure (my anger on this is a different matter) and the things I have read about ZVL. It would be nice now that the lake is receding if some land could be reclaimed and the runway and the taxiway extended. I know Cooking Lake Aviation has/had a legal GPS approach, but believe it is restricted, if the condo board could get that for general access.... Some Jet A1 would be good as I have seen a couple of turbines operate out of there.

Exit the back of the FBO and walk down to the road, hang a left and just on the other side of John Deere is a cool little diner called DJ's 50's and 60's Diner. Great diner destination! Very nice flight in, highly recommend!

yes the work on amravati airport is very slow and government is not concerned/bothered about the progress of the work at amravati airport that's why it's not yet completed in around 3 years after getting approval from the maharastra government.it's one of the major cities in maharastra and 2nd biggest and important city in vidharbha where Nagpur the 1st biggest city in vidharbha and the most important city in vidharbha in maharastra. vidhrbha is not developed as western maharastra is being and been developed from so many years.need to take care of developement of vidhrbha, we don't need belgaon from karnataka as we in maharastra are not yet developed by maharastra government.Jai vidhrbha,Jai Telangana.thanks
denied exit by immigration
it is with pain that i'm writing this story. my niece was to board her first flight in her life, to come and stay with us for a month. but unfortunately she was denied exit from the country as if she was a criminal or worst.
so many personal questions were asked, beyond the limits of personal privacy, and despite having all papers in order, she had to go back home. now what happened to the good all democracy and freedom in the Philippines? is it becoming a privilege of few political actors or what. or if this is the way to go, why the Immigration check is not performed at the Travel agency where you purchase your tickets. who is going to refund the money spent (and lost) for this procedure? does anybody cares. Is anybody at the BI considering giving a receipt showing exactly the reasons for stopping people, or is it done on purpose to allow the duty immigration officer to "control" the situation? Does the BI having an agreement with the airlines that will allow full reimbursement of the ticket to the passengers in cases such the one of my niece? of course not...who cares. my niece is just above 30 and surely not victim of "illegal trafficking" nor, illegal employment, neither having a court ruling against her. and where is the right to ignore the "visa " stamped on her passport and released by a foreign embassy. does the BI believes other countries will allow people in so easy? Or Bi believes everybody is corrupted? should we go deeper into that issue? please meditate, it might happen to you as well, immigration officers included.
