Gimli Glider
This is where Gimli Glider is stored......How painful one historical aircraft to be stored.
re: Airlines
The Wikipedia article and FlightAware both say that Houlton currently has no scheduled airline service. I passed directly over Houlton on my flight from Ottawa to Charlottetown on Tuesday, and back again this morning, and didn't hear any airline flights inbound or outbound on Boston Centre's frequency.
It's a beautiful part of the US, by the way, especially with Mt. Katahdin a bit to the west.

New Miami International Airport (MIA)
I use MIA weekly and I can only say the airport seems to be changing by the day!!! New beautiful architecture, great shopping stores and restaurants, the futuristic SkyTrain and MIA Mover connector to the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) on Le Jeune, the spectacular new Rental Car Center, improved service and lots of smiles (I read that all 35,000 MIA employees are being trained in customer service), construction being completed on time - and very close to budget... if you don't use MIA often, take a look at the changes in its website - what a refreshing change! When it comes to MIA - for once - I'm proud to be a Miamian!

Hospitality
Fields at Galoshkosh 2010 were pretty wet last Sat Jul 24 so forced to stay at Stevens Point. Airport staff and management were wonderful. Fuel was reasonably priced and every effort was made to accomodate the numerous semi-stranded EAA 2010 visitors. Great place to stop!
First Flight in a Piper Dakota
My first flight in the Piper Dakota N2190H was 9/11/92 at Berz McComb with CFII 1936055 L C Jell (sp). Ferried the plane to California in 1992. I bought the plane in 2000 and have flown it in California ever since.
Love your house
I will one day have an official FAA code for my private landing pad. :-)
Chicago Meigs Airport
I can't believe the airport is closed. It was my default airfield for Microsoft's Flight Simulator and I have landed there hundreds of times and flown to and from O'Hare airport as many times. It's a shame!
FIRST AIRPORT
I learned to fly here, PPL, INSTRUMENT, COMMERCIAL ASEL
Maryland Air (FBO)
Maryland Air is the FBO in the terminal building just NW of the approach end of Rwy 22. Visited 7/12-15/2010 in a C-182. They proved very helpful, friendly and courteous in providing rental car, a/c parking and directions. I'd use them again.

Vacation
Great place to fly into and camp on the river. Contact Kayak Bob at 949-433-9184 for the lay of the land and a pick up from the airport.
GREAT FUEL PRICES!!!!!!!!
Modern terminal with all the amenities, full service, quick turn, no landing or ramp fees, wifi, outdoor gazebo, front porch swing, showers, weather terminal, weight room, sleep room! Cheapest fuel around!!!! Great friendly staff. Makes hotel reservations and car rentals available upon request. Courtesy vehicles available for quick trips to town. Best Ribs I've had available at Rib Shack. Hotels, restaurants within 3 miles. This place is an oasis!!!
Sharpening!
If you've let yourself get sloppy and cocky then Lynden will fix that! Great little airport but it does require that you make a stable approach at the proper airspeed. I take students in there about once a week if I see them getting too used to the 6700 feet at Bellingham.
Hard to find, but what a view!
You can even get a cold drink at walking distance in the little village
Great place to practice high altitude landings
Not only is the flight there via Tioga pass gorgeous, the airport itself is the best place to practice your high altitude landings
Vine Grove Airport
remember this field from my childhood, flying with my dad Bob Livingston. Think our old aeronca champ N1406E may be there.

Reply to @Ratherfly: Couple changes...
First the cell phone number has been changed to (860) 798-6288. Call it, make sure it works.
Secondly, we have a spectacular offer for you, Better than Obama! Sellers offer $1,000 to anyone who brings them someone who buys the property. No Strings Attached! Refer a friend, a relative, a neighbor you wish would move away, and if they buy one thousand U.S. dollars go to you.
Good Eats...
Great place to fly in and get some good food and spirits (for passengers). Park at FBO -- Epic Aviation; where you can walk through the gate to McCharacter's Irish Music and Sports Bar. Extensive menu of sandwiches, steaks, seafood and other entrees. Highly recommended. Enjoy Phone # (386) 409-7377
Swaid Rahn
This guy is courteous and friendly. He offers a variety of services. His main activity is Indigo Aviation and he is an A&P, DAR, and IA. What a man to have all of this knowledge locally available.
Nice place
Stacy Briggs is the owner and a very nice guy to have on your side in case of problems.
Briar Patch
What a great place to fly out of.........Plenty of aviation oriented folks here....
re: Why Is It ORD

Fond Memories of Albany Municipal Airport
I learned to fly here in 1975. The Oregon State University Flying Club was based at KS12 at the time.

New Airport Management
The airport is under new management in Steve Merritt, an experience pilot and manager. Don't miss the big annual fly-in -- High Flight 2010 on September 18-19, 2010. See airport website for details.
Hoppy's Restaurant Closing
Sorry to report that the absolute best place to fly in and grab a good meal in the DC area has closed. The new FBO, APP, bought out there lease and is planning to make the space into offices. We'll miis this palace.
Dean International Inc.
Its Class Delta, and a satellite airport below Bravo..
There are a couple of flight schools at this airport, got Para diving... it was fun flying there right under class Bravo and lots of experience...
Eddie Rules!!
Nice airport.
Springerville Airport
They have a new self fueling station that is open 24/7. Price is usually one of the least expensive in Arizona and they have both Jet A and 100LL. It is usually a windy airport in the afternoon and when coming from the west over the mountains it can be quite bumpy. This is a high density altitude airport so make your calculations prior to take off during the summer months... not uncommon to have a density altitude of 10,000 ft or more!
Contact phone number...
number has changed. New cel # is 860-798-6288.
re: Seaplane base
@Anonymous, the FAA disagrees with you. According to them, there are two separate airports called "Moberg Air Base", one a land base MI13, and one a seaplane base 96M.
Seaplane base
The seaplane cymbal is in the wrong place, it should be where is the "Red" plane is, also see: paulbunyan.net/fair/flyin/ on your browser.

1992 Flight Star
I am interested in viewing a Flight Star, Was wondering if you all knew anyone at your air park that had one I could come and view. Would be nice to see one first hand. If you know if any in the area, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks, Robert Karr
Heli Ops
Small operation based on a ranch. Operates Bell UH-1H/ 703 for fire fighting, seismic exploration, powerline construction.
KBBD (Brady, TX)
My home field. cheapest fuel within 100 miles. Line service 24/7 when coming in after 20:00 central time call for service. AWOS 118.375 No self serve fuel but they do have trucks for 100LL and JP8 (jet fuel) and also have 4 Helicopter pads. Free coffee, WIFI, and computer service. If ya have a cell phone other than AT&T it wont work. The airport manager and Line manager live on the airport. If ya have bad service let me know and I will take care of it. The airport manager is my father.
11 terminals?
I've only been once, but was shocked at the condition and arrangement of this airport.
11 terminals? It seemed more like one big long mess, no real distinction.
Very disappointed with both duty free shopping and any dining options.
BUT they were in a state of renovation when I came in and out of LAX. Hope that this can be finalised eventually!
Ed Gorski
Wow, cant believe I found this sight. I worked for Ed in the early 70's > I did everything from sweep the runway, to washing his car and loved every minute of it. Instructors were great. Arnold Kufta, Tony Farrel, Bill Reda, Bill Feddishon, Daine Sutton, and Chuck Smith. What a great bunch of guys. And their was Lucifer the cat. He used to catch mice in the field and bring them for Ed. Ed loved that damn cat !! Many good memories with Wayne W. hangin in the commander, breaking into the furnace room and buying those bottles of coke, and lets not forget driving the go carts down the runway on lousy weather days. Would love to hear info on any of them guy
