springbank ATC
I have flown in and out of Springbank a few times in the last couple years and found the ATC to be consistantly surly so it seems to be more a culture of attitude toward GA. I fly C space around alberta quit a bit and have flown literally across Canada bumping controlled space frequently, I've never experienced anything near as bad as Springbank ATC. After the first couple bouts with Springbank ATC I asked an instructor at the local school, a recently retired Airline pilot who flys recreationally as well AND NavCanada rep at a rust remover for an interpretation of the Northern approach instructions to Springbank; all provided a different interpretation. I use Spring Bank to commute to meetings in Calgary so my choices are limited. I'll start carrying a bottle of Mydol in the plane and when they get snotty with me again I'll give it to the women (with deep voices) in the tower.
Landing and take off at Winter's field CRY4
Aug 2012, I landed here in a Beech 19a. Called ahead and spoke with Wayne who OK'd the use of his field. Runway 34. Bit bumpy but fine for a soft field approach and landing. Suggest anyone fly over the field first to get a good idea of what it's like. Exercise caution while taxing to park as there was an invisible hole just beside where I parked that was big enough to lose a foot in about 6" deep and would easily damage landing gear.

new scam about "2 year old" boxer "puppy" but sends pictures of a 2-4 month old boxer. has some long sob story about her sister and nephew dying in a car crash. say it'll cost 115€ to ship. said the airport would contact the buyer for payment, so many had been transferred prior to learning it was a scam. beware!

Everyone should be aware that the CTAF for this airport is 122.8. The pilot controlled lights are on 122.9.
Margaree Airport
Visited the airport in August 2012. Beautiful asphalt runway, nicely maintained. No aircraft visible anywhere. Small terminal building, locked, looked largely unused. Three "hangars" of which only one looked servicable. Middle hangar falling down and full of non-aviation junk, third hangar closed with what looked like municipal ditch mower parked in front. No fuel, no telephone, and some distance from accommodation. This airport is close to the famous and scenic Cabot Trail, Baddeck, and should be crown jewel. Just add gas, a beater courtesy vehicle, an open terminal/pilot lounge and it should be busy all spring and summer. One wonders who built this airport, for what, and why it is well maintained but seemingly unused. Too bad really, could be a great destination.

ano mga tinanong sayo before mo sinabi na pupuntahan mo ung pinsan mo? hmm.. it's better if you just said you will have a trip and just tourist. kung may kamag-anak ka dun, I think even in NAIA they will look for that proof of relation if you declared it on the immigration interview. Just get another airline ticket, hotel accomodation and credit cards and cash...

amravati airport work, amravati narkhed line, amravati sez,amravati nagpur 4 laning of nh-6,textile park in amravati sez,rail wagon repair factory etc, please inform the government of maharastra to complete these works as early as possible. amravati sez is still waiting for the industries as the email address is not working which is the only option to contact amravati sez. only a missile unit and a thermal power plant has acquired the land in the sez.

There is no dog, and no grounds to sue you. Delete their emails unread and eventually they'll go away.

I just got scammed too.... pug puppy named mimi first its send 140 for paperwork then next thing you know its 875 for pet insurance.. now they are emailing me ssaying if i dont pay they will sue me or i will go to jail for abandoning the pet there... i dont know what to believe!!! i hate these people!!

May be one day I will take the advantage of it but unfortunately it has been defunct, Now a days I live in London since last 10 years and in these years I have to my home (Malkangiri) only twice. Because from London to Delhi/mumbai takes only 8 hrs 30 minutes, and from Delhi or Mumbai to Malkangiri takes 40 hours. so can you imagine how usefull the airport. Even the Jagdalpur airport is out of service. So Pleasee develop KORAPUT and provide service for the public. Please wake up the Orissian politicians. wake up. Do something please.

The ability to leave a comment about the airfield is being used for all the wrong reasons.
I fly the family to aldinga regularly, great scenery, great people, great food, great overall environment. I'm not quite sure what everyone is on about. Don't fly like a tool, and you'll receive just as much respect as anyone else.
Qulichena airport
Good condition gravel strip (Sept 2012), helpful friendly people, and one of the few places where you can get mogas, both regular and premium. Flying a plane with a Rotax 912 engine this is really appreciated. Most high wing airplanes will be able to roll right up to the pumps (its a regular car gas station). The top of the gate posts needed to be about 6 inches lower for us so we used a fuel jug and pump we had on board to transfer fuel. Its only about 250 feet from the pump to the end of the runway so it wasn't too onerous but it would have been fun to pull right up to the pump.
Just be sure to note the power lines along the road.

How can I download CSV files?
Hello there,
Sorry but I couldn't find a proper location to add my comment to except under my fav airport which is LOWW.
I checked the DOWNLOADS page but couldn't download the database files out there. Eg., the downloaded airports.csv file shows only the header information although the download page warns about a big filesize. It's ca.300kb only and empty.
Can you pls guide me on downloading the dbase files? Thank you!

great for a daytrip
a short five minute walk from the airport to a sugar-white sand public beach. Local restaurants will pick you up at the airport. 4R9 is a great day-trip or weekend getaway air strip.
Just remember that there is no fuel or any services here at all. The strip is bit short and short final to RWY12 looks like you are about to land on a carrier. But that is the charm of 4R9 I guess.

My understanding is that Immigration Officers are trained to make sure that Filipinos do not leave the country to become TNT's in other countries. Unfortunately this practice makes every Filipino suspect. We flew from Clark to Singapore last March and they questioned my boyfriend for a long time. I hold a US passport so they had no question for me. I made sure he was dressed up--not with just jeans and tshirt but with dress slacks and dress shirt like a business man he looked like he could more than afford the vacation we going to have. We also practiced the interview so he was versed in the country we were going, where we were staying, how long and when we were coming back.

Reply to @ptomblin: I have an old paper copy of the official ICAO "Location Identifiers" doc (ICAO Doc 7910/128) from June 2008. It lists no identifier "KGVQ". The closest ones are "KGUS" (Grisson AFB) and "KGVW" (Kansas City, Richards-Gebaur Airport). I suspect that someone was using "ICAO" informally, as a synonym for "four-letter all-alpha identifier".
The confusion over ICAO identifiers, especially in the US, is the main reason that I went for "GPS code" instead with OurAirports.
